Anne Peters, MD, FACP, CDE

Director, USC Clinical Diabetes Programs

Dr. Anne L. Peters is a nationally and internationally respected diabetologist, that was the recipient of the prestigious American Diabetes Association's 2008 Outstanding Clinician Physician Award. She is professor of medicine and director of the USC Clinical Diabetes Programs, and the physician currently in charge of developing the nation’s largest outreach program for community-based diabetes prevention and treatment.


Dr. Anne Peters treats a spectrum of patients, from Hollywood producers, writers, and stars who frequent her clinic in Beverly Hills to the poor who populate her free clinic in East L.A. Dr. Peters' research has been published in leading medical journals including JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, the American Journal of Medicine, and Diabetes Care, and she has been quoted in, among others, the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.

The former chairperson of the American Diabetes Association Council on Health Care Delivery and Public Health, Dr. Peters speaks nationally and has appeared on Larry King Live, Dateline, CNN, E.R., and the Discovery Channel, among others.

Good Information

This is good basic information. If you are a person living with diabetes, either type 1, type 2, or a caregiver, I suggest checking out the dLife web site at www.dlife.com. It has a collection of 1000's of diabetes recipes that make finding something good to eat much easier. Best part? They are free and they add new ones all the time.

Viitamin D and Type-One

Thanks to Dr. Peters for all of her fine work. I'm a volunteer with the JDRF. I just wanted to share a piece of information that I discovered regarding Vitamin D. A Finnish Medical study (publshed in The Lancet,2001) suggests that adequate Vitamin D supplementation might reduce the frequency of the disease. Today, it is univerasally accepted that expectant mother should receive folic acid to prevent birth defects. Perhaps Vitamin D supplementation should be seen in the same light, particularly in countries located in the high-north.

Word-Wraping of your introductory paragraph

For some reason the text in the opening paragraph is not word-wrapping properly, so the reader has to scroll to the right to read it.

It is not wrapping properly in IE and Firefox web browsers.

Just thought you’d like to know.
