BioShock Walkthrough Introduction

This is a detailed walkthrough on how to complete BioShock. The game is a science fiction first-person shooter from the creators of System Shock 2. It has been released on both the PC and Xbox 360, and will be available on the PS3 in October 2008. This walkthrough details the game's campaign on normal difficulty.

General Advice

  1. Hacking the sentries and security cameras is almost always advantageous. This game requires a lot of backtracking and features a seemingly endless amount of enemies. Hacking the security system will often prevent you from having to deal with these foes as they will die from the traps even if you aren't present.
  2. BioShock is an expansive game with a multitude of rooms to explore. The purpose of this guide is to describe the most direct route to your objectives. Nevertheless exploration is encouraged. Take your time with the game.
  3. The Electro Bolt plasmid is your greatest asset. Always keep it upgraded.
  4. The wrench can be a formidable weapon. Don't hesitate to use it on single enemies (with the exception of Big Daddies).
  5. If you get lost you can usually find your way by following the gold arrow at the top of the screen. This arrow points you to your objectives. This is the arrow referred to throughout this guide.

Prologue

  1. Swim forward through the opening in the flames.
  2. Head toward the stairs. They are to the right of the plane's sinking tail section.
  3. Walk up the stairs and through the doorway.
  4. Cross the room and walk down the stairs until you get to the gold Bathysphere.
  5. Enter the Bathysphere and pull the lever.

Welcome to Rapture

  1. Don't panic when the splicer attacks. There is nothing you can do at this point. When the Bathysphere opens, pick up the radio inside and exit. The fellow at the other end of the radio will introduce himself as Atlas.
  2. Walk forward along the catwalk and turn left. Walk up the stairs. The female splicer that attacked you earlier will be here, but Atlas will send a sentry bot that chases her away.
  3. Jump over the debris and pick up the wrench ahead of you. Use it to destroy the debris ahead. Crawl through the new opening.
  4. Walk up the stairs and use your wrench to bludgeon the splicer at the top. Turn left and walk up the next set of stairs. Use the Gatherer's Garden you find at the top.
  5. Once the cut-scene is over walk up to the door ahead of you. Use your new Electro Bolt ability to zap the malfunctioning switch next to the door.
  6. Walk forward through the glass hallway. The plane's tail section will eventually crash through. Walk into the tail and then out the door on the side. Follow the water down the tunnel and through the door marked Securis.
  7. You will emerge into a hall with two rooms off to either side. There is a splicer in the room to the right. Kill him. Return to the hall and wait for another splicer to enter from the door opposite the one you exited. Search both rooms for items and then proceed ahead.
  8. Walk up the stairs. A splicer on fire will run at you from the door ahead. Kill him and walk through the door he exited. Use the elevator on your left.
  9. When you exit the elevator you will see the shadow of a female splicer on your right. Sneak up from behind and whack her. Search the baby carriage she was fawning over to find a revolver. Walk through the door ahead into the Kashmir Restaurant.
  10. Once inside you will hear some splicers talking. Walk to the top of the stairs on your right. You will see a splicer pounding on a door below you. Kill both he and the female splicer that emerges from the room. Search the room she was in for money. When you exit, walk forward a bit. Atlas will tell you to kill the splicers roaming around in the water ahead by shooting electricity into the the liquid. Oblige him.
  11. Search both floors of the restaurant for items/audio logs. Back upstairs, walk to the bathrooms (to the right of the stairs). If you wish, go into the women's bathroom to view a ghost scene and grab an audio log. Kill the splicer that comes out of one of the stalls as you exit. Proceed to the men's room and go to the last stall. Walk through the hole in the wall.
  12. You will be overlooking another room. A Little Sister is below extracting Adam from a corpse. Walk along the metal overhangs to the other side of the room. Walk down the stairs and watch through the glass as a splicer gets destroyed by a Big Daddy. Loot his corpse and proceed to the next room by knocking the lock off the gate.
  13. Follow the arrow to the right of the Vita Chamber. Kill the female splicer that runs out with a gun. Keep walking forward and turn left. Kill the male splicer that attacks you. Follow the path around to the left. You will see a few splicers below surrounding the carcass of a Big Daddy. Shoot some electricity in the water to kill them. Walk down to where they were and jump down to the next level. There will be a Vita Chamber in front of you. Follow the on-screen arrow to the doorway with a "Good Morning Rapture" sign above it. Before you can walk through a gate will close and an alarm will sound. A number of splicers will jump down from where the Big Daddy carcass is laying. The best strategy is to wait for them to land in the water and then electrify it. Kill any stragglers that evade your trap.
  14. Atlas will tell you to go to Medical. Follow the arrow through the gate on the other side of the room, opposite the one that closed on you. Keep following the arrow until you reach the room with the metal hatch and televisions. Try to go through the hatch. The door will slam shut, sealing you inside. Watch the message from Andrew Ryan. Atlas will tell you he has unlocked the hatch. Ignore the splicers that appear and go through the hatch to Medical.

Medical Pavilion

  1. Atlas will tell you to find the Emergency Access. Enter the main room. You will see two staircases in front of you. There's no need to walk up them yet. Instead turn left, walk past the vending machine and you will see a door with a sentry bot stuck inside. Hack the sentry. The door will open and now you will have a robotic ally to boot. Walk through the door.
  2. You will get to a room with two staircases. Immediately ahead of you will be a desk with an audio log on it. To your right will be a few splicers who, after fighting amongst themselves, will turn on you. After killing them, walk up either staircase. At the top of the stairs will be a control panel that overlooks Emergency Access. Use the control panel and a door behind you will open.
  3. Walk through the door and turn let. Kill the splicer inside then proceed forward. Take the tommy gun you find and then hit the switch ahead of you. This will open the door at the top of the staircases in the first room you entered (you can see the door from where you are standing). A number of splicers will run through the newly opened door. You can try to snipe them from where you are standing, but it's easier to wait for them to come to you. The narrow hallway behind you will make killing them like shooting fish in a barrel. When you're done, walk back to the first room and search the reception area between the two staircases. Go up the stairs through the door.
  4. You will see a ghost scene as you walk through the room. Walk through the open door marked Surgery. You will now be in the Medical hub. Walk around the wall ahead into the main room. Zap and hack the sentry gun in the center of the room before it can draw a bead on you. You'll also want to deal with the sentry gun shooting at you from a crack in the wall to your right. A few splicers will be running around, but if you hacked the sentries, they will be mincemeat soon. Grab the audio log off the reception desk and then proceed to the Eternal Flame Crematorium in the back left side of the room.
  5. There will be a splicer banging on the door to the crematorium. Wait until the door explodes and then kill the bomb throwing splicer that emerges. Walk into the room he came from. Grab the audio log under the painting on your left. Go through the door behind the desk. Avoid the security camera in this next room and proceed up the stairs.
  6. Kill the splicers you find upstairs. Take special note of the oil slick on the floor. There is a small room here that you cannot enter due to a malfunctioning door. Instead crawl through the small hole in the wall. Once inside the room take the Incinerate plasmid. Some splicers will run into the upstairs area. Ignite the oil with your new ability to kill them.
  7. Make your way back to the Medical hub (where you first entered the crematorium) and go through the door that says Dr. Steinman's Aesthetic Ideals. Walk down the hallway and exit the door at the far end. You will encounter crazy Dr. Steinman, who will run through a passageway and then blow it up, making it impassable. Atlas will tell you to find the Telekinesis plasmid.
  8. Return to the hub and go down the stairs near the Dr. Steinman Aesthetic Ideals door. Burn the ice that blocks the doorway. Grab the audio log off the ground and proceed forward. This is the Dental area. Turn right at the end of the hall and you will enter a large room. There is a shotgun in the middle of the floor. Grab the shells around it before picking up the gun itself. Once you do, the room's light will dim and about half a dozen splicers will attack. Kill them all, then proceed left and go through the door that says Dandy Dental.
  9. Loot the reception area for items before proceeding through the next door. Once inside, turn left and walk into the room full of trophies and tennis rackets. There is a Gatherer's Garden inside with the Telekinesis plasmid.
  10. NOTE: You can use the tennis ball machine in this room to practice with the telekinesis plasmid.
  11. Return to where Steinman escaped. There will be a splicer throwing bombs at you from above. Use Telekinesis to catch one and then propel it at the debris blocking the door. You can now enter the passage.
  12. Follow the path around to the left. Steinman will activate a security drone and a sentry before running away. Try to zap and hack both if you can. Make sure to grab the Static Discharge tonic on the right side of the hall. Follow Dr. Steinman.
  13. NOTE: There are lots of items in the room through the door on the right of the hallway. Beware the security camera inside.

Dr. Steinman

  1. Follow the arrow and eventually you will arrive in a room where you can observe Dr. Steinman from behind a window. Eventually he'll notice you. Jump out of the way as he shoots through the window with his tommy gun. Just pump him full of lead until he dies, making sure he doesn't run anywhere or heal. Once he's dead, loot his corpse and follow the arrow back to the hub.
  2. TIP: Here's a good strategy for dealing with Steinman. Run into the same room as he is in. There will be two staircases that lead to a lower level filled with water. Hack the health station down here so that it hurts enemies. Try to light Steinman on fire. He will run down to the water to put himself out. You can now keep shocking the water until he dies. If he somehow manages to reach the health station, the gas it emits will hopefully finish him off.
  3. On your way back some debris will fall and you will be re-routed left. As you proceed you will witness an action scene in which you will be introduced to your first Little Sister. You can choose to either harvest or rescue her. I recommend rescue. Afterward go to the Gatherer's Garden in the same room to upgrade your plasmids.
  4. Keep following the arrow until you get to the hub area. Atlas tasks you with destroying the Big Daddy that is prowling around with a Little Sister. Equip any armor piercing rounds and electric buck shot you might have. Just keep shocking him with the Electro Bolt and then shoot him while he is stunned. After the Big Daddy is no more, make sure to rescue the little sister.
  5. Follow the arrow all the way to the Security Access. Walk up the stairs and use the panel overlooking the access. Walk through the access and into the Bathysphere.

Neptune's Bounty

  1. Atlas will tell you to go to Fontaine's Fisheries. Follow the arrow to the room's exit.
  2. Follow the arrow until you reach the Lower Wharf. Here you will see a Big Daddy with a Little Sister. Unlike the last one you fought, this incarnation has long-ranged attacks. He can shoot you with the rivet gun, throw proximity mines, and give you a good hard punch if you get too close. Try to take him out on top of the wharf if you can. Avoid ground level because there are turrets under the dock that can make your life miserable. Do what you will with the Little Sister, but if you save her (and you've saved all of them up to this point, right?) there will be a toy bear with a Hypnotize Big Daddy plasmid waiting for you at the next Gatherer's Garden (see below).
  3. Follow the arrow into the door on the right. You will emerge on a deck with a Gatherer's Garden to your left. The deck overlooks the entrance to Fontaine's Fisheries. Several splicers are below along with a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) sentry gun. The splicers will probably run up after you. Kill them and then run downstairs and zap the sentry. Hack this if you can because a number of splicers will now run at you from the level below. The sentry will make short work of them.
  4. Walk through the door behind the sentry. Once inside, proceed to the gold door and knock. A man named Peach Wilkins will open the spyhole and tell you to go to the Wharf Master's Office and find the research camera within. A female spider splicer will attack from behind you. Turn around and fight her. Wilkins will send a sentry drone to help you out. When she runs away, collect the grenade launcher on the conveyer belt to the door's right.
  5. Follow the arrow back up to the Gatherer's Garden. Walk around the Garden to find another corridor. There will probably be a few splicers waiting for you here. Instead of turning right and going up the stairs, turn left and proceed down the hall through the door at the end.
  6. You will now be on the other side of the Lower Wharf. You will see a Big Daddy and Little Sister roaming around. Take the Big Daddy out, collect the Adam from the Sister and follow the arrow back inside.
  7. Follow the arrow until you reach the Upper Wharf. There will be a Big Daddy here without a Little Sister. Either hypnotize him and use him to get rid of the splicers roaming around, or just try not to hit him while you dispatch the monsters.
  8. NOTE: The Hypnotize Big Daddy ability works like this: the brute will attack anyone who hits you or anyone you attack. If you have a lot of regular pistol ammo just shoot a splicer once to make the Big Daddy finish the job. But aim carefully because if you damage him he will turn on you. This will also happen if he walks through fire set by you, such as with a flaming oil slick. Basically if his face mask glows red you are in trouble.
  9. There will be a RPG sentry in the adjacent room. Destroy it. Now wait for the Big Daddy to bang on the Little Sister vent (a mettalic porthole in the wall). A Sister will emerge. Now kill the Big Daddy.
  10. Proceed through the gate near the RPG sentry. There will be a security camera hanging at the top of the stairs that you'll need to deal with. Destroy it and grab the audio log from near the Circus of Values machine. From the top of the stairs you will see another camera down the hallway on your left. Ease out and destroy it. Proceed up the next flight of stairs and you'll be in the Wharfmaster's Office.
  11. Take your first right. Knock the lock off the gate ahead and quickly take cover. There will be a machine gun sentry at the far end of the hall taking shots at you. Lob a few grenades its way to destroy it. Once it is destroyed, take a look at the hallway in front of you. You can either turn right or go straight. Either way you will be confronted by RPG sentries. You can't see them, but they are off to the right in each horizontal hallway. The best method is to run past the first sentry, to the spot where you destroyed the machine gun turret. Stop and equip your electro plasmid. Now pop out and shock both the RPG sentry and the security camera before they react. Destroy both. Now knock the lock off the gate nearby and proceed inside.
  12. Crawl through the small hole in the wall directly ahead of you. You will emerge into a room with a Vita Chamber and Gene Bank. Search the room for ammo and then proceed right, through the hall and into the interrogation room.
  13. The first thing you'll notice in the interrogation room is that there is a splicer on the other side of the glass window. Ignore him for now. Walk forward and take the camera off the desk (it's highlighted in gold). Peach Wilkins will tell you to photograph 3 spider splicers. These are the ones that crawl on the ceiling. For an easy one, just turn around and snap a shot of the splicer inside the interrogation room. Exit the room.
  14. Backtrack to the Vita Chamber. An explosion will have opened a new passageway. Kill the splicer here and continue forward. You will see two windows to your right, one of which is shattered. Look down and you will see a splicer jumping around and shouting in front of a security camera. Grab the nearby Security Bullseye plasmid and use it on the splicer below. The security camera will detect him and sentry bots will fly out to kill him. Jump down to the room below and hack the camera. Walk through the door ahead.
  15. Keep moving forward and you will eventually get to another glass hallway. There will be a security camera coming up on your right that you should hack. There will also be a few splicers here. Kill them, but try to use the research camera first to earn some bonuses. After you are done, walk to the end of the hall. You can either go right or left. Take the door to the right.
  16. You will now be in a post office. There will be several splicers here, including a female spider splicer. Kill the normal foes and take a picture of her (you can do it when she's dead as well). The post office has lots of ammo and items lying about. Feel free to loot the place, but make sure to destroy the security camera on the left wall in the second room. Go back out to the hallway.
  17. Back in the hallway there may be a few new splicers. Equip your camera and SAVE the game. Walk to the door ahead of you. As you open the door there will be a spider splicer right in front of you. If you are fast enough, you can snap a photo and complete your objective (you can also try killing him, but more than likely he'll run away too fast). If you miss him, just reload the saved game.
  18. NOTE: If for some reason you miss this guy, you can proceed further into the room and up the stairs ahead into Fighting McDough's Tavern. Go upstairs and through the door at the far end of the hall. You will hear some rustling. Walk back outside and you will see a spider splicer edging along the ceiling toward you. Take a picture of him.
  19. When you have all the photographs, follow the arrow back to Fontaine Fisheries. Knock on the door and Peach Wilkins will open it for you. Once inside, Wilkins will tell you to drop your weapons in the Pneumo Tube to your right. Oblige him. You will now only have your wrench and your plasmids. Use the Gene Bank on the other side of the room. Make sure you have Electro Bolt, Incinerate, and Telekinesis equipped. Melt the ice on your left to uncover the Focused Hacker tonic. Now proceed forward through the next door.

Peach Wilkins

  1. You will eventually arrive in an ice-filled room. Save your game and proceed inside. Peach Wilkins and a number of other splicers will attack you. Do not go around to the right because there is a security camera that will spot you. If for some reason it does, use the bot deactivation switch that is visible next to the Circus of Values machine. Stay on the left hand side of the door, but do not run past the Circus of Values machine. Kill any splicers that come around. Ignite the oil slick you see on the ground if you wish. Peach Wilkins himself will throw Molotov cocktails at you. Use your Telekinesis ability to catch and throw the bombs back at him.
  2. When everyone is dead, deal with the security camera on the right side of the room. Walk toward the back of the room. There will be a machine gun sentry that will start shooting at you. You can destroy it or just run into the hallway to the right.
  3. Once in the hallway, collect your weapons from the gold Pneumo Tube. Keep going downstairs. Ahead will be the first weapons upgrade station. Use it.
  4. NOTE: Upgrade wisely. You can only use these stations once and there are a limited number in the game.
  5. Melt the ice around the hatch that is to the right of the upgrade station. Go inside and watch a ghost scene. Now melt the ice on the far wall to reveal a hole. Walk through it. You're about to enter the Smuggler's Hideout.

Smuggler's Hideout

  1. Keep moving forward through the water. Turn left at the Vita Chamber and keep going past the Gene Bank.
  2. Carefully walk up the ramp. There is a RPG sentry in the distance. Take it out with a grenade from the distance. Grab the audio log to the right of the turret and the prcoeed down the next flight of stairs.
  3. Atlas will ask that you hit the switch to lower the submarine. Follow the arrow. Smash the padlock off the gate and proceed forward. The control panel will be ahead of you (highlighted in gold). Activate the switch. When you do the doors will close behind you, temporarily sealing you inside. Watch Atlas through the window as he scurries about. You can't do anything so just sit back and enjoy.
  4. Eventually the doors will re-open and the game will prompt you to go the submarine. Follow the arrow through the door behind you. You will come upon some wooden catwalks that are aligned with splicers that want your blood. Kill them all and keep following the path. Eventually you will see the submarine in the distance. The sub will explode before you can get there. Search for any loot on the ground and follow the arrow forward.
  5. NOTE: There is a padlocked gate to the right of the entrance to where the submarine is (was). Knock the lock off to find an audio log and a stash of money.
  6. Look for the audio log on the left when you enter the next room. Enter the hatch ahead to Arcadia.

Arcadia

  1. Atlas will tell you to go to the metro station. Walk past the Vita Chamber and break the gold lock off the door to proceed.
  2. As you will see Arcadia is essentially Rapture's version of Central Park. Follow the arrow. You will see a small bridge that extends over a brook. Go through the door to your right.
  3. NOTE: If you turn left after the bridge you will find an audio log and encounter a ghost scene.
  4. In this next room you will encounter the Houdini splicer. These foes can teleport in a buff of red gas (blood?). Ignore them and keep following the arrow up stairs. You will see a splicer run away from you into a door labeled Rapture Metro. Follow him.
  5. Follow the arrow across the bride. You will see a splicer trying to snipe at your from the right. Ignore him for now and proceed forward. The next room will contain a number of splicers and a machine gun sentry immediately to your right. Disable the sentry first before dealing with the splicers. To the sentry's right there is a secret passage that leads you to the place where the splicer was sniping at you before. Take your revenge and then return to the room and continue following the arrow to the next.
  6. Turn left at the sign pointing in the direction of the Metro. You will traverse some more greenery until you get to Arcadia Glens. Go inside.
  7. You will see a Houdini splicer attacking another. Go forward and turn left at the sign that says Rapture Metro. Turn right again a the bot shutdown panel and you will see a Gatherer's Garden. There will be a Big Daddy with a Little Sister nearby. Take him down and extract the Adam from her. If you rescue her, then the Sisters will leave another toy bear filled with items at the nearby Gatherer's Garden.
  8. Follow the arrow along the bridge and turn right. You will hear a security camera. Look ahead and you can see its red light. The camera is off to the left. Just ease out and destroy it. Walk through the door ahead to Rolling Hills.
  9. Proceed downhill. Watch out for the RPG sentry gun behind the middle tree. Try to hack this if you can because splicers will respawn here. There will be a passageway off to the right of the sentry. Wait here for a moment. A Big Daddy will emerge. Follow him and he will take you to a Little Sister vent at the entrance of the room. He will bang on it and a Little Sister will crawl out. Kill the Big Daddy.
  10. Proceed back to the passage where the Big Daddy came from. Go down the stairs and turn right. You will see two passages up ahead. The Rapture Metro to you right and Professor Langford's Research Laboratory to your left. As you head toward the metro, a door will block it and gas will fill the room. Atlas will tell you to find Professor Langford. Follow the arrow into the Research Laboratory. Hack the security camera on you right and walk through the door ahead.
  11. In this next room, Professor Lanford will contact you. She will ask you to get her some Rosa Gallica from the Watefall Grottos. This is back near the last Gatherer's Garden. Follow the arrow back to the grotto.
  12. When you reach the grotto, you will see a group of splicers beating another one. Lob a grenade into their midst. Where they were standing will be a Security Evasion tonic. Take it and proceed downstairs.
  13. You will immediately notice electrical trip wires blocking the path. Use Telekinesis to hurl some objects and eliminate them. There will be a sentry slightly ahead of you and to the right. Destroy it along with the camera to its right. There will be another sentry on the ground level below. Just avoid its fire as you descend. When you reach the ground, quickly run forward, zap the sentry, and hack it.
  14. Look to the left of the water wheel to find the Rosa Gallica. After you take it some splicers will run downstairs to get you. If you hacked the ground level turret they shouldn't be much of a problem. Follow the arrow back to the Research Laboratory where you last talked to Langford.
  15. Place the Rosa Gallica in the Pneumo Tube to your left. Langford will open the door. Walk inside and grab the Hacking Expert tonic off the desk in front of you. Proceed to the adjacent hallway. Langford will tell you that she has hacked the security system. You have three minutes to meet her. Follow the arrow through the lab and upstairs.
  16. Eventually you will get to a room where you can see Langford working behind a window. As you approach the room seals shut and Andrew Ryan floods it with gas. Langford will write a number the number 9457 on the glass before she dies.
  17. Walk inside when the door opens. Grab the chemical thrower off the table in the center of the office. Search Lanford's body to retrieve an audio log. Now go to the picture of the flower. Remove the picture to reveal a safe. Now input the code Langford scrawled on the glass. Search the safe and you will find and audio log and some cash.
  18. The audio log will play automatically. It tells you that you need to invent the Lazarus Vector. To accomplish this you will need to collect 7 units of distilled water and 7 enzyme samples from the Farmer's Market. Retrace your steps through the laboratory. Be careful for the security system is now hostile toward you. Try to hack every sentry you see. They will come in handy later.
  19. Follow the arrow. It will lead you out of Rolling Hills into a door labeled Tree Farm. Turn right from the door and follow the path around to the left. There will be a weapons upgrade station here. Use it and proceed forward.
  20. There will be a few splicers between here and your goal, but you can just run past them if you don't feel like wasting the ammo. After a few yards you will see a sign for the Farmer's Market. Go through the hatch.

Farmers Market

Your purpose in the market is to find 7 enzyme samples and 7 bottles of distilled water. Take note of the parenthesis as you read. They will indicate how many of each item you should have so far.

  1. Search the corpse near the Pneumo Tube to find an enzyme sample (1). There is also an audio log nearby. Take it and walk into the next room.
  2. From here you can go left or right. You can't see it from here, but there is an RPG sentry to the right. Pop out, zap, and hack it. Now turn around and follow the arrow in the opposite direction.
  3. Walk past the market stands until you see an oil slick ahead of you. At this point you will hear a security camera. Its off to the right. Destroy it.
  4. Follow the arrow forward through the doors behind the oil slick. In the next room you will see a Big Daddy with a Little Sister. He will be fighting a Houdini Splicer. Wait for the Big Daddy to emerge victorious and then take him out.
  5. Return to where you first entered the room. From here you can turn either left or right. Follow the arrow left. Check the floor and you will see a bottle of distilled water (1). Grab it and the audio log. Walk through the door.
  6. You will again be in a glass hallway. Walk forward and you will come to a fork in the path. Ignite the oil slick in the middle of the pathway to take out the splicers roaming the hall. Take the door on the left.
  7. You are now in the Silverwing Apiary. DO NOT touch the beehives on the ground. Grab the audio log off the desk and use the Gatherer's Garden to upgrade. Walk through the doors behind the desk.
  8. You will now be in the main hive area. In front of you will be two smoke controls. When you use the controls smoke will fill the larger room and the bees will dissipate for a few seconds. Walk over to the left entrance to the main hive area. What you will have to do is press the button and then run into the room, searching the hives for enzyme samples. Each time you disturb a hive, some splicers will enter the room and attack.
  9. This will take a few tries, but here is the most direct route: From the left passageway look inside. See the tallest hive box in the middle of the room? Search the short one next to it to find the enzyme inside (2). Return to where you were standing before. See the tall hive against the far wall? Search it for another enzyme sample (3). From this hive, turn right and there will be a hive box on a table diagonally from you with another sample inside (4). Go forward and you will see a doorway directly ahead of you. Turn left and there will be a small hive next to a table with one inside (5). Turn back toward the doorway. Search the very large hive to the right of the doorway for another bit (6). Finally the small hive immediately to the right of the door will contain the last bit of enzyme you need (7). Exit the apiary and walk back out into the glass hallway.
  10. Turn left at the oil slick and proceed through the door. You will now be in the Worley Winery. The wall in front of you forces you to walk either left or right. Walk left. Stop when you see the health station. Look right and you will see (and hear) a security camera. There is also a machine gun sentry to the right of the camera, further down the wall (you won't see it from here). Jump out and quickly electrocute them both. Hack them. When you're done, hack the safe between the camera and sentry. Search the safe to receive two bottles of distilled water (2+3).
  11. Turn around. There will be a bottle of distilled water on the floor to the left of the bar. Collect it (4). Go forward in the direction the arrow is indicating. You will walk down some steps. Stop. Look up to see a jug of water on the rafter above you. Use telekinesis to grab it (5). Avoid the trip wires and walk downstairs.
  12. You will wind up in a hallway. Walk down the hall and turn left. Kill the splicers that attack and then proceed forward. You will eventually see a U-Invent machine on your left. There is a jug of water in front of it (6). Take note of the location of this U-Invent and walk down the stairs behind you.
  13. When you reach the bottom of the stairs, walk forward into the room directly ahead. Use the weapons upgrade station and take the jug of water immediately in front of it (7). You should now have all the supplies you need.
  14. Walk back up to the top of the stairs and use the U-Invent to create the Lazarus Factor. Now it's time to return to Arcadia. Follow the arrow all the way back to where you entered the Farmer's Market. Exit through the bulkhead.

Arcadia 2

  1. Once you get back to Arcadia, Andrew Ryan will send three security bots after you. You can either run past them or just use your electro plasmid to shoot them out of the sky.
  2. Run all the way back to the room in the laboratory where you saw Langford die. Insert the Lazarus Vector in the Misting Control near the window.
  3. Andrew Ryan will send some splicers after you. You will have to hold them off until the Lazarus Vector takes effect. Atlas will tell you to seal the lab. Follow the arrow back to the entrance of the lab and seal the door with the switch next to the desk. This will hold the splicers for awhile. Search the Pneumo Tub near the newly sealed door for some items.
  4. Position yourself so that the splicers cannot flank you. Hypnotize any nearby Big Daddies for extra support. Kill every splicer you see until the Vector is ready. When its ready, run up and hit the switch on the Misting Control panel.
  5. Follow the arrow out of the lab and into the Rapture Metro door outside. Proceed through the station and into the Bathysphere.

Fort Frolic

Sander Cohen - Beginning

  1. Atlas will tell you to go to Hephaestus. Go forward through the first room and into the door marked Hephaestus. The Bathysphere ahead will close and zoom away once you get near it. A macabre performance will play out as Sander Cohen contacts you. You are given a goal to find him. Turn around and go back to the first room.
  2. A number of electric trip wires have been erected ahead of you, in effect forcing you to go left. Fight off the horde of spider splicers that attack from the ceiling. Afterwards Cohen will invite you to Fleet Hall. Walk through the doors ahead to Fort Frolic.
  3. The large room you walk into is the Atrium. Take note of this because you will be returning here often during the course of this episode. Walk up the large central staircase (there is an audio log at the top) and go into the door labeled Fleet Hall.
  4. Follow the arrow through the hall until you get to the bar area. There is a security camera hanging in front of the bar. Hack it if you can. You can't open the glass doors underneath the camera yet. Instead turn left and use the elevator.
  5. NOTE: See the staircase to the right of the glass door? If you walk up the staircase, it will lead you to a supply room full of items and eventually to Sander Cohen's dressing room. Cohen will become flustered and complain that he is not yet ready to see his audience.
  6. Exit the elevator and follow the arrow until you get to the theater. Watch the gruesome performance play out and then use your camera to snap a picture of the dead pianist.

  1. Follow the arrow back to the Atrium. If you exit the theater at stage level, watch out for a pair of sentries that attack from the left side of the hallway.
  2. Back in the Atrium, walk down to the sculptures at the foot of the stairs. Place the photo in one of the frames. Cohen will give you a crossbow and tell you to kill three men. Check your Goal screen for their location. You'll start with Martin Finnegan.
  3. Go back up the stairs and turn right at Fleet Hall. Follow the hallway around. You'll pass a Gatherer's Garden you can use to upgrade your plasmids. Keep moving forward and you will see the sign for Poseidon Plaza on your left. Go through the door.
  4. Walk through the frozen hallway and collect the frozen audio log you pass. Go through the door at the end of the hall. You will now be in another ice-filled room. Turn left and you will see a Houdini splicer run away from you. All these enemies are frozen. You can shatter them, but you will receive no items in return. Ignore them and proceed further into the room. Eventually you will freeze. Finnegan will appear and place you in a spot in the room.

Martin Finnegan - Mini-boss

  1. When you regain control you will be in the same hallway, but facing the opposite side. Frozen enemies will again be to your right. Finnegan will be the one at the end of the hall on the left. Kill him and take a picture of his body. Search his corpse to find the Frozen Field tonic. Follow the arrow back to the Atrium.
  2. Back at the Atrium, place the picture of Finnegan in one of the frames. Now it's time to take out Silas Cobb. But first some Big Daddy action. There are two in this area, both with Little Sisters accompanying them. One pair is on this first level and the other is upstairs. Kill them both and do what you will with the Little Sisters. If you save them a second toy bear will appear in front of the Gatherer's Garden upstairs.
  3. Once you're done, go back through the Poseidon Plaza door and into the frozen room where you killed Finnegan. Instead of turning left, melt the ice away from the door directly ahead with the Incinerate plasmid. Proceed inside.

Silas Cobb - Mini-boss

  1. You are now in Poseidon Plaza. The area has two levels. Expect spider splicers to attack you almost immediately. Once you've killed them, take the first staircase up to the second floor and turn left to see Rapture Records. Go inside.
  2. NOTE: While fighting the spider splicers try not to shatter any of the display glass. This will trigger an alarm and sentry drones will attack. If this does happen, the bot shutdown panel is on the first level of the plaza, behind the stairs.
  3. Drop down to the floor below. You will see what appears to be someone sitting in front of a fire. This is a trap. A bomb explodes when you get near. Once this happens Silas will run out the door on the level above. Kill the spider splicers that attack. Now crawl through the duct to the left of the window to get back to higher ground. Exit through the door. Silas should be standing right outside. He will lob some bombs at you, but just throw them back at him with Telekinesis. Once he's dead, take a picture of his body and return to the Atrium.
  4. Place Silas's picture in the frame. A number of splicers will attack. Kill them all to receive a present from Cohen.
  5. Now it's time to kill Hector Rodriguez. Go back to Poseidon Plaza and ascend to the second level. Take a left at the sculpture and you will see the levels final Big Daddy/Little Sister combo down the hallway ahead. Before attacking him take out the machine gun sentries at the far end of the hall. A good strategy would be to hit the Big Daddy with the Security Bullseye plasmid, so he'll take out the guns for you. Afterwards kill him and reap the Adam from the Little Sister.

Hector Rodriquez - Mini-boss

  1. Walk through the doorway at the end of the hall marked Eve's Garden. You will emerge onto the second floor of a burlesque club. Take the door to your left downstairs. On the ground level, take note of the bar to your right. Now jump up onto the stage. Watch the ghost scene and proceed into the passage at the back of the stage. As you walk through the hall you will see and hear another ghost scene. When it's finished, walk through the door at the end of the hall. Search through the room. You will find an audio log on the left side of the bed. When you're done retrace your steps back to the stage.
  2. Hector Rodriguez will now be at the bar, yelling for a drink. Gun him down, but be careful of his Molotov cocktails. Take a picture of his corpse and return to the Atrium.
  3. NOTE: Before you return to the Atrium, go to the second story of Poseidon Plaza and enter the door marked Sinclair Spirits. Look behind the bar for a switch. This switch opens the nearby door to a wine cellar. In the cellar below is a weapons upgrade station. Upgrade your weapon and kill the spider splicer that sneaks up behind you.

Sander Cohen - End

  1. Place the final picture in the frame when you get back to the Atrium. Watch the theatrics as Cohen walks down the stairs. He will lead you over to a glass case in the center of the room and give you the Medical Expert tonic inside of it.
  2. NOTE: See the other glass case with the chain on it? You'll have to kill Cohen to get inside it. Wait until he unlocks the first case and then lay into him. He's a Houdini splicer so watch it when he teleports. Some other splicers will also join the fray. Once he's dead, search his corpse to find a key. Unlock the case and collect the items inside. Take a picture of Cohen's body. If you're playing the Xbox 360 version you will receive the Irony Achievement.
  3. Follow the arrow to Bathysphere station. Enter the sphere and proceed to Hephaestus.

Hephaestus

  1. Atlas will tell you to go to Ryan's office and kill him. Follow the arrow forward through the door at the far end of the room. Turn left at the next available opportunity. You will reach an intersection with some splicers. Deal with them and turn left where the arrow indicates (there will be an Office of Andrew Ryan sign hanging from the ceiling).
  2. When in the next room, take the staircase to the right. There is a machine gun wielding splicer here you need to kill. Also take note of the machine gun sentry on the other side of the wall. Search for an audio log in the crate near the Circus of Values in the far corner. Once done, go through the door behind you.
  3. You will enter a larger room. Turn left and you will see a sign with arrows pointing in the direction of Andrew Ryan's office. Follow the sign (there will be an audio log near the Vita Chamber you pass). Grab the grenade launcher off the desk in the middle of the room as you pass by. Follow the arrow up the small set of stairs. Watch out for the security camera as you turn the corner. Enter the door underneath the camera.
  4. Follow the path and you will enter a long hall. There are corpses pinned to each of the columns that align the hall. Walk all the way to the end of the hall, past the Andrew Ryan statue, and hit the circuit breaker. You must now investigate the area for a way to get to Ryan. Turn around and search the gold corpse hanging from the column to your left. You will find an audio log that instructs you what to do.
  5. Walk back down the hall and toward the door to the left labeled Hephaestus Core. Before you reach it the door will explode and splicers will pour inside and attack. Kill them all and continue through the door.
  6. Follow the arrow through the water-filled room with the Big Daddy corpse. Take note of the corpse's location, this will be important later. Go through the hallways until you arrive at the core (you'll know it when you see it). Turn left and go through the door.
  7. When you arrive in this new room you will see a Big Daddy with a Little Sister. He will be attacking a splicer. Kill the Big Daddy once he's done fighting. Grab the audio log to the right of the Vita Chamber on this floor. From this Vita Chamber, turn around and walk to the railing opposite it. Look down and you will see a security camera below you. Blow it up. Now proceed down the steps to the floor below.
  8. You'll be at the bottom of the stairs. Don't follow the arrow to the left. Instead turn right and proceed forward. You will eventually reach a Gatherer's Garden. Upgrade if you wish and then keep running forward and enter the Heat Loss Monitoring room.
  9. Once inside, you will come to a long hall full of turbines and other machinery. As you move forward the lights will flick on and off intermittently. When you reach the end of the room a group of splicers will pop out and attack. Once they're dealt with, proceed into the next room.
  10. You'll hear the moan of a Big Daddy soon after entering. Turn right and walk along the large structure to your left until you get to the back of the room. See the Little Sister vent on the back wall? Wait here and the Big Daddy will come to you. Kill him and deal with the Sister. Take note of where you killed him.
  11. From the Little Sister vent, proceed into the room ahead. The body ahead of you is actually a splicer playing dead. Teach him a lesson and walk down the stairs.
  12. There will be a control panel in the center of the room. Proceed to the right and down the stairs. Once downstairs grab the Security Evasion Tonic and the golden audio log off the desk. You must now go to Kyburz's Workshop.
  13. NOTE: Before you leave, go to the other side of the room. There is a water-filled area below you that is electrified. Walk along the catwalk to your left to see a ghost scene. Afterwards, hack the control panel on the wall to turn off the electricity. You can now safely walk into the water below and collect the items strewn about the area.
  14. Follow the arrow back to the Core. Once you see the core, turn right and follow the arrow up the stairs. Walk into the Workshop door.
  15. NOTE: There are lots of Big Daddies meandering around the Core. Hypnotize one if you want some backup.
  16. Kill all the splicers in this area. Turn right and deal with the machine gun sentry in the adjacent room. We will be coming back here later so take note of the location. You'll notice a Big Daddy walking through the room. Follow him back to where you entered the workshop and down the stairs. He will knock on a Little Sister vent near the bottom of the stairs. A Sister will emerge. Kill the Big Daddy and extract Adam from the Sister. Take note of where he falls. We'll need to find his body later.
  17. Walk down to the bottom of the stairs. Watch out for the two machine gun sentries to your left. Follow the arrow down the adjacent hall, past the safety sign. Turn left at the end and walk into the room.
  18. The first corpse you see will have an audio log on it. Grab the chemical thrower to your right and proceed through the room. Take note of the Big Daddy corpse you pass. Walk behind the shelves you see ahead to find a small wooden doorway. Open it and crawl inside.
  19. You will now be in a small room. Collect the tonic and gold audio log off the desk. Notice the large bomb casing on the other side of the room. You will be given a set of items to find in order to construct the bomb. You can view the items in the Goals menu. You need to find three things: two quarter cases of Ionic Gel, one Nitroglycerin charge, four R-34 wire clusters. You will find these clusters on the Big Daddy corpses. Remember how you've been keeping track of the Big Daddy carcasses? This is why.
  20. Exit the room. Use the shelves as cover and kill the splicers that are waiting for you. Collect an R-34 cluster from the Big Daddy corpse (1). Now walk back to where you killed the last Big Daddy (presumably on the top floor of the workshop). Collect the cluster from his body as well (2). If you aren't already on the top floor of the workshop then go there. Walk into the room on the left where you destroyed the machine gun sentry. Grab the canister of ionic gel off the desk at the back of the room. Exit the workshop area and go back to the Core.
  21. Once you see the Core, turn right, walk past the desks and down the ramp to the lower level. There will be a canister of ionic gel on the first control panel you see to your right (2). You should now have all the gel you need.
  22. From here you have a number of options to obtain the remaining two R-34 clusters. Remember the first Big Daddy you killed in the Heat Loss Monitoring room? You can go back there and collect a cluster from him (3). Afterwards backtrack all the way to where you first entered the core area. Remember the Big Daddy corpse sitting in the middle of the water-filled hallway? It's right after the room with the Andrew Ryan statue. That will give you the last one you need (4). Alternatively you can simply find and kill two Big Daddies.
  23. NOTE: A more fun method is to do the following: Find a Big Daddy and hypnotize him. Track down another and simply shoot him with your pistol. This will cause the Big Daddy under your spell to fight the new one. They will fight for awhile, but eventually one will kill the other. No matter who wins, just whip out your gun and finish off the weakened survivor. Collect the clusters from both bodies.
  24. You will now have all the items you need except for the nitroglycerin. To find this, follow the arrow to the bottom floor of the workshop. Remember the door between the two machine gun turrets? The code is 01-26 (Australia Day).
  25. Take out the trip wires and make your way to the desk at the back of the room. Use the weapon upgrade station you find here. Now press the small red button on the left side of the desk. This opens the nitroglycerin charge's case to your right. Collect the charge. At this point a machine gun sentry appears and prevents you from exiting the room. Destroy it and leave.
  26. Follow the arrow back to the small room with the bomb casing. Click on the bomb to place all the components inside. Take the completed version. Atlas will tell you to take the bomb to Geothermal Control. Exit the room.
  27. There will be about three splicers waiting for you outside the room where you found the bomb. Kill them and proceed back to the Core. Follow the arrow and enter the Geothermal Control room.
  28. You will be in a large room with two doors, one to your left and right. Either will lead you to the same place. Ready the electro plasmid and proceed inside. There will be a machine gun sentry in front of you. There will be another to the left or right (depending upon what door you used). They effectively cover both doors to the area. DO NOT DESTROY THEM. Instead quickly shock and hack them. Set any proximity mines you have on the two entrances to the room.
  29. Atlas will tell you to release the magma. Walk to the golden wheel between the two sentries. Save your game. Turn the wheel by holding down the use button. As you do this, splicers will start entering the room. If you hacked both sentries and placed the proximity mines, then the horde should be held back long enough. Keep turning the wheel. Once you're done, take the elevator behind you.
  30. Walk forward through the security doors. Take the Shorten Alarm 2 tonic off the ground near the body you come across. When you get to a dead end, use the core lift control on your right. This will raise the platform you are on to a control panel. Place the bomb here. Watch the fireworks and then exit.
  31. Atlas will tell you to go back to Ryan's door and throw the circuit breaker. Follow the arrow back to the room with the Andrew Ryan statue in it. Kill all the splicers and drones here. Proceed to the circuit breaker behind the statue. Walk through the hatch to Rapture Central Control.

Rapture Central Control

  1. Walk forward though the hallway. You will emerge into a large room with a mechanical structure in the middle. Andrew Ryan will address you and afterwards activate Rapture's auto-destruction sequence. Atlas will tell you to hurry and kill Ryan before everything blows. There doesn't seem to be a timer on the sequence, so take your time exploring the room and collecting items (there is an audio log near the Vita Chamber).
  2. Once you're finished, proceed to the right side of the room. You can't use the door, so instead scale the stairs to the left. Crawl inside the small air duct you find at the top.
  3. Crawl through the air duct and drop into the room below. You will see a bulletin board ahead of you with the words "Would You Kindly" written in red across it. Take the two audio logs off the table and walk through the door to you right.
  4. NOTE: You will probably want to save your game before entering the next room. This is a major turning point in the game's story.
  5. Sit back and watch the cut-scene. Pretty surprising, no?
  6. You will have Ryan's key when you regain control. You need to stop the auto-destruction sequence. Run through the door to your right and keep moving forward. You will reach a room that contains a model of Rapture. Use the key on the panel in front to override the sequence.
  7. Listen to the message from Fontaine. When he's finished, the door in front of you will open. Run out and follow the Little Sister (ignore the sentry drones). When you get to the room where Ryan met his demise, you will see an open air duct ahead with another sister beckoning you. Crawl through the duct and move forward until you fall. Don't worry, this is supposed to happen.

Olympic Heights

  1. When you regain control Tenenbaum will give you a number of objectives. To save yourself from Fontaine you will need to find a cure for your conditioning. First you must search Dr. Suchong's apartment. Follow the arrow forward. A Little Sister will tell you to follow her. She will lead you up the stairs and open a door for you. Exit through the door and you will be able to use your weapons again.
  2. Fontaine will contact you and activate Code Yellow. Don't worry you have all the time in the world. You will be in a room with a canal of water running through the middle. Follow the water to the end of he room. Turn right to find a golden handle next to a body. Take the handle and follow the water back until you see it branch off to the left. Insert the handle into the socket you find here. Turn the handle by holding the use button until the door opens. Walk through.
  3. You will emerge into what looks like an abandoned subway. Turn around and kill the two splicers at the back of the room. Follow the arrow forward. Take the path around to the right. You will see a Bistro sign. Take out the sentry gun that begins shooting at you. Walk around to the left to find a Big Daddy and a Little Sister nearby. Don't walk too far for there is another sentry up ahead to the left. Wait for the Big Daddy to come to you before eliminating him. There will be several splicers in this room as well, so you might want to hypnotize the Big Daddy to aid you before killing him.
  4. From the Little Sister vent walk forward and deal with sentry on your left. You will see a Gatherer's Garden here (if you've saved enough sisters there will be a toy bear waiting for you). Upgrade as needed and proceed forward. Follow the arrow through the passage ahead. The sign above it will say Mercury Suites.
  5. Proceed down the pathway. The slumped over body you see is actually a splicer playing dead. Kill him and explore the train cars for items. At some point a Big Daddy with a Little Sister will come up behind you. Deal with him.
  6. Keep going forward and kill the splicers in front of the entrance to Mercury Suites. One will throw bombs so be careful. There will be a security camera to your immediate left in the passage up ahead. Destroy it and to the right around the wall in the center of the room.
  7. You are now in Mercury Suites. The room you enter is square shaped with multiple levels above. Watch for the splicers running around this bottom level. There will also be a security camera slightly back and to the left of the elevator in the central structure up ahead. Take it out and use the weapons upgrade station you find near it.
  8. The arrow will lead you through a door on the left side of the courtyard. This is Dr. Suchong's Apartment. Walk forward, through the home and into the water. Follow the arrow to the left. You will emerge in an office. Take the Clever Inventor tonic and audio log on the desk here. You must now find the Lot 192 remedy.
  9. Leave Suchong's apartment. Watch out because there is now an RPG sentry in the courtyard. Hack it and then proceed up the ramp attached to the central structure. Go to the third floor. There will be a gold audio log next to a camera. Pick it up and write down the code it gives you... 5744.
  10. Follow the arrow until you reach a room on your left. Kill the splicer here and enter Dr. Tenenbaum's apartment. Turn left from the bathroom and walk down the hallway to the end. Turn right. You will hear a splicer complaining and see him throwing books into the hallway. Run to where he is and kill him. You are now in a library. Tenenbaum will tell you to go elsewhere to find the remedy.
  11. Go back into the hall and follow the arrow downstairs through a passageway on your left (you will see a water-filled room below). Knock the lock off the door you find downstairs and walk through. You will be on the second floor of the courtyard in Mercury Suites. Follow the arrow to the first floor. Input the code into the elevator attached to the central structure. Once again it is 5744. Step inside the elevator.
  12. You will arrive into a large room with a series of columns on each side and rocks in the middle. Take note of the security camera in the distance. Move around to the left and use he columns as cover while you fight off the splicers in the area. There is a machine gun sentry behind the large rock in the center of the room. You want to hack this if you can, but first pop out and destroy the aforementioned security camera. Walk through the door underneath the camera.
  13. You will see a staircase up ahead with a bear statue in the middle. The staircase branches off to the left or right. Turn left at the bear. Walk into the bedroom and take the door to the left of the fireplace. The next room is a study. Jump over the electric trip wire to reach the desk. Take the Electric Flesh 2 tonic off the desk and then grab the Lot 192 remedy (a little gold vial) off the table to your right. Taking the remedy will render your plasmids temporarily unselectable (you'll cycle through them randomly). Tenenbaum will tell you that you need to find another dose of Lot 192. Follow the arrow back to the elevator and take it back to the Mercury Suites courtyard.
  14. Walk forward and leave the Mercury Suites area. You will now be back in the dilapidated subway tunnel. Move forward and go through the passage at the end of the hall.
  15. Turn left as the arrow indicates. You will see a security camera ahead of you. Just run underneath it and take the passage to Apollo Square.

Apollo's Square

  1. Follow the arrow to the next room. Take the audio log near the Circus of Values machine to the left. Continue forward through the gates. Approach the derelict subway car ahead. You will soon see a Big Daddy with Little Sister fighting a group of splicers. Wait until he's killed them all and then take him out.
  2. The next large room will have a gallows in the middle. There will be a splicer standing on top of one of the lower podiums. Take him out and kill all the other splicers that attack you. Now go back to where you first entered the room. Look left. See the Little Sister vent? Wait patiently and a Big Daddy will walk up to it. He'll bang on it and a Little Sister will emerge. Kill the Big Daddy. When you're done, walk across the room to the left through the passage marked Artemis Suites.
  3. You'll be in another subway tunnel. There will be a machine gun sentry in the middle of the first platform. Take this out. Now see the column at the far end of the platform? There will be a security camera behind it. Walk along the platform to get behind and hack it. Drop down and there will be a pair of splicers off to your right that attack. Once they are dead follow the arrow through the passage to Artemis Suites.
  4. Turn right at the Vita Chamber and proceed forward. Stop once you see the Circus of Values machine. There will be a camera on the wall behind the column at the center of the room. Take it out.
  5. Follow the arrow up the stairs to your left. On the second floor you will see a Room-for-Rent sign in a window. Walk a few feet forward and walk through the first door you see on your left.
  6. You are now in Suchong's Clinic. When you enter you will see an electric trip wire straight ahead of you. There is a security camera down the hall to your left. You can destroy the camera now, but you will probably want to hack it instead. On the other side of the wall that separates the room is a machine gun sentry. You definitely want to hack this. Once you've dealt with the turret, go through the door nearest the entrance to the clinic (straight ahead from where the sentry sits, past the trip wire).
  7. Proceed to the middle stall of the bathroom. There will be a splicer in front of it that is playing dead. Kill him and collect the Medical Expert 2 tonic. Now walk back to the clinic's main area.
  8. You should be facing the direction where the machine gun sentry is/was. Follow the arrow forward into the next room. You will now be in Suchong's office. Looks like Dr. Suchong got on the bad side of a Big Daddy. Collect the audio log off the ground to hear of his fate. Now walk to the kitchen area of the room and take the vial of Lot 192 you find there. You should now have full control of your plasmids again. Tenenbaum tells you to take the Bathysphere to Point Prometheus.
  9. Walk out of Suchong's office and into the clinic's main area. There will now be splicers waiting for you outside the clinic. They will run in after you, but if you hacked everything then they will quickly meet their maker. Beware the RPG sentry they have placed in the hallway outside.
  10. Return to the room with the gallows. There will be a new batch of splicers here. Shoot a grenade at the ones with their back to you and deal harshly with the rest. The right hand side of the room will contain an Gatherer's Garden and some vending machines. Upgrade if you wish and follow the arrow north through the passage marked Hiestia Chambers. Watch out for the machine gun sentry ahead of you.
  11. You will emerge into another subway tunnel. Take out the security camera on the left side of the path. Proceed down the slope. A number of splicers and a sentry drone will pop out of the Rapture Metro entrance. Deal with them.
  12. NOTE: From here you can see Fontaine's House for the Poor. There is no need to go into this area. However if you want to gain some extra items and upgrade your weapons it is worth your while. Watch out for the RPG sentry as you enter the area. The most worthwhile room is at the top floor. This is Fontaine's Office. It will have a cage full of guns you can grab with Telekinesis. There will also be a downstairs area that contains the weapons upgrade station, a Focused Hacker 2 tonic, and some audio logs that expand the story.
  13. Proceed down into the Rapture Metro. Climb into the elevator at the bottom of the ramp. When the elevator stops, walk forward toward the Bathysphere. There will be two splicers lurking around (one of which is playing dead on a mattress). Kill them both before entering the sphere. On to Point Prometheus!

Point Prometheus

  1. Fontaine will appear and light a fire in front of the Bathysphere. The door will pop open once he leaves. Keep moving forward through this room and the next. Eventually you will see Fontaine behind some glass, activating sentry drones. When the glass opens, hack or destroy them and continue the chase. Eventually you will reach the Main Hall and Fontaine will escape via a door to the right.
  2. You can't pursue Fontaine until you get a Little Sister to open the door for you. You must make yourself look like a Big Daddy for them to trust you. Tenenbaum tells you to find a Big Daddy corpse. There is one in this room, laying within a broken window (it will glow gold). Search the corpse to find the Suit Control System. Before proceeding use the weapons upgrade station near the body.
  3. You must now collect components that will make you look, sound, and smell like a Big Daddy. From the corpse, turn right and go through either of the doors. This leads to a long hallway. A few splicers and sentry drones will drop from the second level to attack you. After sending them to the great beyond, go through the door ahead that reads Little Wonders.
  4. Duck as soon as you enter the next room. There will be two glass windows on your right. On the other side are two machine gun sentries. Pop up, shatter the window and lob grenades inside to destroy them. One will be immediately facing you, the other is off to the right near a bot shutdown panel. When they are demolished jump up on the desk to the left, break the window, and crawl inside the room.
  5. Time to smell like a Big Daddy. Exit from the sentry room. This new area is where they raised the Little Sisters. It is made up of two levels, each with two hallways that run parallel to one another. Cells align either side. There will be a Big Daddy with a Little Sister somewhere nearby. Find them and kill the Big Daddy. Proceed down the hall until you get to the end. There will be a door to the Autopsy room (a Circus of Values machine is directly opposite it). Go inside.
  6. There is a security camera facing you as soon as you enter. Zap and hack it. Go to the back of the room and collect the pheromone sample off the desk (1). One down, two to go. Also grab the Safecracker tonic. If you turn left from the desk and walk forward a few feet you will trigger a ghost scene. Splicers will enter the room after you grab the pheromone sample. If you hacked the security camera, then sentry drones will appear to help you out.
  7. Exit the autopsy room and turn right. Follow the path and take the stairs on your right just past the Little Sister vent. Turn left at the top of the stairs and you will see another pheromone sample on the desk ahead. Grab it (2). Proceed down the hall, making sure to grab the audio log off the third desk. The path will bend around into the adjacent hallway. There is a single desk here with a pheromone sample on it. Take this and you should have all three. You officially smell disgusting.
  8. Follow the arrow back to the Main Hall (take the door directly ahead of you, to the right of the Circus of Values machine). There will be a security camera above you when you open this door. Destroy it and proceed forward. You will emerge in the Main Hall. This is the elevator section that splicers attacked you from earlier. The arrow will indicate that you should go to the right hand side, but first go left and zap and hack the RPG sentry around the corner. There is also a Gatherer's Garden here if you wish to upgrade. Turn around and follow the arrow through the doors that read Optimized Eugenics.
  9. After the decontamination doors open you will see a camera immediately ahead of you. Zap it and hack it. You will probably hear a Big Daddy somewhere nearby. Find him and kill him. When you are done, walk through the door immediately to the right of where you entered. It should read Live Subject Testing. Go through the room, up the stairs and through the door to your right. Collect the Alarm Expert 2 power-up and use the Voice Modification Machine (highlighted in gold). Now you sound like one of those automatons. Now you just need to get the look down. Walk out of the room and deal with the splicers that run in to get you. Follow the arrow into Failsafe Armor Escort (the doors behind the RPG sentry you hacked/destroyed in the Main Hall).
  10. No matter which way you entered, go through the first door you see (it will either be to your left or right). There will be several sentry drones laying on the floor. Hack as many as you can and then exit to the right (your right as if you were facing the bot shutdown panel). Walk down the hall and enter the door that says Candidate Conversion.
  11. You will emerge into a long rectangular room. There is a wall that blocks you from the middle portion of the room, except for two passageways at either end. You can't see it from here, but there is a machine gun sentry behind the wall ahead to your left. There is a corresponding RPG sentry to the right of the other passageway. Jump out and destroy them both. Proceed to the other side of the room. You will see a golden audio log. Take it to determine where to find the boots. They are in the library near the door that Fontaine escaped through. We'll get them last.
  12. NOTE: At this point a Big Daddy will probably walk into the room. He will beat on the Little Sister vent near where you picked up the audio log. When the Little Sister emerges, kill the Big Daddy and rescue or harvest her.
  13. Exit the room via the doorway on the right (NOT the one you entered through). Proceed forward through this new room, over the oil slick straight ahead, until you get to a railing. Jump over the railing onto the stairs below. Proceed up the stairs and you will see the Big Daddy suits hanging straight ahead of you. Grab one.
  14. From where you got the suit (there will be an ammo vending machine to the right), walk forward through the door labeled Candidate Induction. This new room has a similar rectangular shape to the one earlier. You will see the gold helmets you need in the distance. Notice that there is a water-filled section of the floor between them and you. Walk over and grab a helmet. Now turn around and walk back. As you cross the room, a few spider splicers will drop from the ceiling on the right. Run backwards and electrocute the water when they run through it. Kill any stragglers. Exit the room.
  15. Immediately turn right and take the door labeled Main Hall. Walk down the hallway until you get to the end. Walk through and you will emerge back into the Main Hall near the Gatherer's Garden and RPG sentry (if you saved the last Little Sister there will be a toy bear waiting for you in front of the Garden).
  16. From the Failsafe Armor area, make an immediate left. Go through the door behind the arrow that reads Mendel Memorial Library. Turn left into the next door you see. You are now in the library. There will be security camera to your right that you need to address. See the hallway to the left of the camera? There is a machine gun sentry there. Quickly pop out and destroy it. Walk down the hallway to the next room. The boots you seek and a Damage Research 2 tonic will both be laying on the large desk in the middle of the room. Deal with the spider splicers and ice-shooting Houdini splicer before collecting both and exiting the library.
  17. From the library turn left and walk down the stairs. There is a Little Sister vent at the bottom. Hit the vent with your wrench and a Little Sister will emerge. Follow her as she opens the door that Fontaine fled through. Walk through the bulkhead to the Proving Grounds.

Proving Grounds

First some general notes about this area. This is basically a big escort mission with you protecting the Little Sisters from various dangers as they lead you through the museum. If your Little Sister dies, Tenenbaum will tell you to go to the last Little Sister vent you passed. Once there you must bang on the vent with your wrench to make another emerge.

  1. Follow the Little Sister. She will lead you through a wooden door into an area overlooking a courtyard below. Ignore the Big Daddy fight below and follow her left through another door.
  2. You will be in a dark hallway that snakes around. Follow the Little Sister. Kill all the splicers that attack and prevent them from hitting your escort. You will eventually reach a yellow sign that says Test Subject. Above it is a security camera. Zap this with the Electro Shock and then jump to hack it. The Little Sister will begin extracting Adam from the corpose in front of the sign. This will draw splicers to your location. Protect her as enemies run at you from both hallways. If you hacked the camera, some sentry drones will show up to help you. When she's done, follow her onward.
  3. When you reach the end of the hall (there will with the shark mouth ahead of you), a sentry drone will fly out. Zap this to hack it and you will have an escort buddy. Follow the Little Sister to the left and you will be in a new hall. You will see and hear a security camera on your left. Run forward and hack this. Further on down the hallway there will be a flamethrower turret. Hack this too. Walk back to the camera. Opposite the security camera will be the Test Subject 2 (indicated by a yellow sign). The Little Sister will again start extracting Adam from the corpse. Kill the splicers that come from the left and right. The flamethrower turret up ahead will help you somewhat with enemies coming from that direction.
  4. When she's done, follow her and turn right at the flamethrower turret. As you round the corner you will see a machine gun sentry at the far end of the hall. Run forward and destroy this. The Sister will open up a new door for you.
  5. You will emerge into the courtyard area you saw earlier from above. Slightly ahead on the second floor you will see a Big Daddy. Ignore him and proceed along the right side of the giant skeleton at the room's center. There will me a machine gun sentry coming up on your right side. Hurry forward and take it out. The sister will lead you to the end of the skeleton, then turn left. When you turn, quickly hurry forward ahead of her. See the Gene Bank up ahead on your right? There is an RPG turret ahead that is sort of diagonal from the Gene Bank. It won't be readily visible until you pass the display case on your left. Pop out and destroy it. Follow the sister through the door.
  6. Watch for the security camera immediatly to your left as you walk through the door. Proceed to the right and you will see a hallway submerged in water. Walk a little bit ahead of the Little Sister and equip the Electro plasmid. Some splicers will pop up out of the water. Shock the water to kill them all. Keep walking forward through the water and look out for the security drone that may fly at you from the other side of the room. This room is shaped like a U, so follow the sister all the way around until you get to the other side. Eventually you will see a large fish in the display case in front of you. Go up the stairs and turn right. There will probably be at least two splicers in this area. You will see a sign up ahead that says Test Subject 3.
  7. Quickly run forward and hack the machine gun sentry on the left, directly opposite the Test Subject 3 sign. If you look to the right of the sentry you will see a security camera in the next hall over. Run past the sentry and hack this as well. If for some reason you mess up and the alarm activates, the bot deacivation panel is in the same hallway as the camera. You might also want to hack the Health Station immediately to the sentry's right.
  8. Return to the Test Subject 3 sign and the Little Sister will start drawing Adam again. You should be pretty well covered from splicers coming at you from the next hallway over if you hacked everything. Pay closer attention to those coming from your left or right.
  9. When she is done, follow her down the hall, turning left in front of the large stuffed bear. Continue down the hall (it will be the same one with the security camera in it from before). When you turn right at the end of the hall, a Big Daddy will bust through the wall ahead. Try to keep between him and the Little Sister as you take him down. Follow the sister ahead through the door.
  10. You will once again be overlooking the courtyard you were in previously with the giant skeleton. You're home free. Just follow the Little Sister into the next door on the right.
  11. You will notice the copious amounts of vending machines and other familiar power-up stations in this room. Follow the Little Sister around the wall ahead. The sister will jump into one of the vents. When Tenenbaum prompts you, take the syringe from the Little Sister. Now go explore the room to buy/collect items and upgrade your plasmids. This will be your last chance before facing Fontaine. Walk into the elevator when you are ready.

Final Boss - Fontaine

  1. Walk out of the elevator. Fontaine will be strapped inside a machine directly ahead of you. An indicator will pop up that shows four red bottles. This is Fontaine's Adam level. Tenenbaum will tell you to hit Fontaine with the needle the Little Sister gave you. Run up the machine's stairs and press the use button when you reach Fontaine. This will take away one of his Adam bottles. Fontaine will writhe in pain before breaking loose from the machine and knocking you across the room. Now it's time to fight.
  2. NOTE: There is a Gene Bank and Health Station in this room. Both are at opposite sides. To find the Gene Bank, from the elevator, run right and then turn left when you see the Little Sister vents. Do the reverse to find the health station.
  3. Fontaine will first attack you with fire. He will shoot a fireball and then charge you. If his charge connects, it will send you flying a few feet back. He can also punch you if you get too close. The tommy gun with anti-personnel bullets works best against him. Just side-step his attacks and keep firing. Once you've exhausted his health meter Fontaine will teleport back into the machine where you found him. Run up to him and stick him with the needle. He will now have two Adam bars left. Fontaine will knock you back again for another round.
  4. NOTE: If you start to run out of anti-personnel rounds, check the Little Sister vents to the left and right of the central area. Sometimes the Sisters will throw ammo out for you. It will appear gold.
  5. TIP: If you want to save your ammo or just be stylish, head to the area in the back of the room, behind the machine. There will be a slightly lowered area that is filled with water. If you lure Fontaine into the water, you can use the Electro Bolt to shock him. You can keep doing this over and over again to really drain his health.
  6. This time Fontaine will shoot ice, again followed by a charge. A security alarm will also trigger. This causes sentry drones to fly out and start attacking you. Zap them out of the sky and use the same strategy you employed before on Fontaine. When he teleports back to the machine, run up and use the needle again. He will only have one Adam bar left..
  7. TIP: A humorous way to deal Fontaine some damage is to use the Security Bullseye plasmid on him. Watch as the sentry bots turn on him.
  8. Fontaine's final attack is to shoot a black ball of electricity at you, again followed by a charge. Several splicers will emerge to join him in attacking you. Try to concentrate you fire on Fontaine and only kill those splicers dealing you damage. If you are feeling overwhelmed you can use the environment to your advantage by igniting the oil slicks around the stage or throwing barrels with Telekinesis.
  9. TIP: Yet another fun strategy is to use the Enrage plasmid on the splicers. Not only will they attack Fontaine but they will also eliminate each other.
  10. Once Fontaine's health bar is exhausted, he'll teleport back to the machine for a final time. Run up and stick him with the needle. Watch the end cut-scene. Congratulations on beating BioShock!
