Adobe Connect is a great way to hold online meetings. But what if you want everyone to view a video at the same time, through the Share Pod, and the video is an flv file embedded on a webpage?
The video file I wanted my students to view with me is located on the zotero home page: http://zotero.org. Sure, I could tell them to view it before the online class, but I really wanted the video to be embedded on what Adobe Connect calls their Share Pod, to be assured that everyone would be viewing the video at the same time. Here is what I did:

Sure, I could tell them to view it before the online class, but I really wanted the video to be embedded on what Adobe Connect calls their Share Pod, to be assured that everyone would be viewing the video at the same time. Here is what I did:
- I positioned my cursor on the video on the zotero webpage, right clicked the video, and selected "Copy link location." (Screen shot of webpage below, using Firefox and Apple computer.)
- That link provided the source location for the video (http://www.zotero.org/static/videos/zotero_1_5_cast.flv)
- I pasted that link in my browser address bar, navigated to the file location, and was offered the option of saving the file to my computer, which I did.
- In an Adobe Connect Meeting Share pod, I selected Share>Documents>Select from My Computer and uploaded the file from my computer to the Adobe Connect server.
- It didn't appear that the file was being uploaded, but I was patient (for once!) it DID :)
- The flv file plays perfectly within my Adobe Connect Meeting Room
- I even double-checked to see if it played in the meeting, using another computer, and am happy to say IT WORKED.
