Busby SEO Challenge

Goal

Participating SE Optimizers will need to make sure that their websites are optimized and rank 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Google search engine result pages. The said positions are the only ranks that will be included in the prize money bracket which are $5000, $3000 and $500 respectively. Apart from that there is a bonus iPod Touch for those who invited their friends to join the said Busby SEO Challenge and made them to join.

Guidelines

To join the Busby Challenge, SEO masters should not use a domain or subdomain that contains any part of the key phrase. Doing so will disqualify the said entry. New or existing domains are allowed for the said contest.  Another important rule of the challenge is making sure that SEO practices should be ethical and conform to the recent guidelines of good SEO practice recommended by search engines like Google. Pornographic, illegal and other indecent type of websites as entries or links, are not allowed. 

Pros & Cons

The benefit that this challenge brought to participants is that at least it increases the popularity rank of any website who joins. The problem is that your website should adapt to the rules and objectives of the challenge.

This is an example of an entry to the said challenge. I'm currently maintaining this website. It's a new domain and i'm not expecting to excel but I'm hoping for great result to traffic and page importance of the website.

This one is from previous champion of SEOContest 2008 from the popular french SEO team. Currently they are leading the contest and expected to win but some participants like Pogung and others are trying to steal their crown. Google dances as the challenge is in progress.

How are they doing the SEO stuff?

SEO practitioners start with the search engine optimization of their websites within inside their system. They make sure that the structure and design of their websites comply with Google's rules and guidelines. Apart from this here are some of the things that I found they are doing to make their entries excel:

1. Link building through social bookmarking websites.
2. Article Submission is also used to build new and strong backlinks for their websites.
3. Complying with the rules on maximum characters in meta tags such as title tags, keyword and descriptions tags.
4. Making use of VLogs (Video Blog) and Blogs to review their entries.
5. Directory Submission. The traditional way of building links but found to be still effective.

"Busby SEO Test" The Next "SEO War"

Just this 1st of October 2008, Busby Web Solutions announced the 2nd episode of their SEO contest. It is called Busby SEO Test and still the leaders of the test are the passers of the previous SEO test. Who will win this new challenge? Will it be the same people who grab the previous prizes or will it be someone new and someone fresh out there who just sleeps and wake up because of this competition. Let us just see.
