DVD Duplication

DVD Duplication Defined

DVD Duplication is defined as the copying or "burning" of an existing DVD or Disc Image onto blank DVD-/+R or DVD-/+RW.  This process is very similar to the copying done on a personal computer with a DVD burner.
The quality of this type of disc is usually excellent provided that: the one doing the copying is using high quality blank media, the integrity of the original master is verified, a quality burner is used, and that the burning process is left uninterrupted.
Often times burned DVDs are perceived as a lower quality disc over DVD Replication(pressed discs), however, this is usually due to the large amount of low quality discs available at the consumer level.  Using low quality discs will result in poor playback, skips, jitters, or just unrecognizable discs in your DVD player.
Quality media is the solution.
This process is most often used when less than 1000 DVD discs are needed.  Mostly this is driven by cost.  At 1000 pieces it is more economical to use DVD Replication, the process of pressing DVDs.  DVD Replication is used with most of the commercial DVDs that are available for rent or purchase.
