Jamnagar is the oldest city in Saurashtra. Jamnagar was also known as "Halar" in olden days, later it was known as "Nawanagar". Modern Jamnagar city was built in 1920 AD by Maharaja Shri Ranjitsinhji. Jamnagar city has army, navy and air force installation as the city has strategic geographical location. In last few years Jamnagar has emerged as a Petro Giant. India's largest private company Reliance has established the world's largest grass root level refinery near Jamnagar, Essar Oil too has a refinery in Jamnagar district.

Ranmal Lake:

In the centre of old Jamnagar, on an island, are located two magnificient old structures, the Lakhota Fort, in middle of the Lake and Bhujia Kotha just near by to the Lake. Lakhota Fort is Jamnagar's Museum and its terraces display a fine collection of sculpture that spans from a period of the 9th Century to the 18th Century.
The Bhujia Kotha is Jamnagar's arsenal. One of its most interesting sights is an old well, the water of which can be drawn by blowing into a small hole in the floor.

Ayurved University:

Jamnagar is famous for his Ayurved University. Dhanvantri Mandir was built under the personal supervision of Dr. Pranjivan Manekchand Mehta, Chief Medical Officer of Guru Govindsingh Hospital. After independence it gained the status of Ayurved University.

Pratap Villas :

A beautiful palace inspired by the 'Victoria Memorial' of Calcutta with beautiful traditional carvings of birds, animals, creepers and plants. Its three domes are made of glass. The palace was built during the rule of His Royal Highness Jam Ranjitsinhji. A must see for all tourists.

Bala Hanuman:

The Bala Hanuman Temple is at the southeastern side of Ranmal Lake (also known as Lakhota Lake), and here since 1st August 1964 and 24 hours a day, there's been continuous "Ram Dhun" of the invocation 'Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram'. This devotion has earned the temple a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Early evening is a good time to visit.

Solarium :

Solarium  is also known as the Ranjit Institute of Poly-Radio Therapy. A slowly revolving tower provides full day long sunlight, that provides Solar Therapy facility. It is open after working hours for the visitors.

Pirotan Island:

Pirotan Island is only marine national park in India, this is situated in Jamnagar Dist and near Jamnagar. Pirotan Island is situated 16 Nautical Miles away in Great Arabian Sea near Jamnagar. Area of Pirotal Island is 3.0 square k.m.  and island is covered with Marine Trees, dense forest known as "Mangroves" deep, there Mangroves are deep in sea. The Pirotan Island has beautiful scenarios, and Majestic view of Sunrise and Sunset. Pirotan Island hosts a great flora and fauna of marine aquatic forms. The entire marine forest & Pirotan Island have various marine lives, The forest is very rich and dense in wild life, Marine creatures, Sea animals, and really a very good Paradise for Bird watchers and Nature lovers. following types of Crabs are found in Pirotan Island.

Pirotan Island is home for some Dolphins as well, however its rare to see them as they are only found in deep sea. Many colorful sea sponges are found near Mangrove forest, Red, Blue, Violet,and Pink sponges are main amongst them. Moon coral, Star Coral, Finger Coral, Brain Coral is among the few found near Pirotan Island.Corals are known as "Parwada" in local language.

Dwarka :

Dwarka was capital of lord Krishna. This place was also known as Kushusthali and was first capitol of Gujarat, Krishna named the city as Dwarka. and he was then known as Dwarkesh or Dwarkadhish. Dwarka is situated 22-29 latitude North & Longitudes 68'-50" to 69'-14" (45 kms north south +31 km east west) average 71606 sq. kms area having seven isles since over 3 million years old & reclaimed time to come having 12 to 140 C temperature in December & around 400 C in June. It's wet climate is bearable due to sea breeze through the day. Dwarka is the place where the ancient Hindu technique to Salvation (Tantra) evolved. There are three Shaktipeeth in Dwarka, one of them "Rukshmani" is in Dwarka and the other two are in Bet Dwarka.

Bet Dwarka :

bet Dwarka is also known as Bet Shankhodar (Door made of Conch shell), was a busy port, it is believed that this port and Bet ShankhoDwar is the place where Lord Krishna was living with her queens, even today Krishna can be seen in idols all around bet Shankhodwar, idols of high queens like Lakshmiji, Rukshmaniji, Radhaji, Satyabhamaji, Jambuvantiji are main attractions here, Bet Shankhodwar is full of temples there are around 23 Shivalays, 20 Vaishnav Temples, 9 Hanuman Temples, 6 Devi Temples, and everything is on a small island. Bet Dwarka can be reached from Okha by sea, the distance is 3 KM. There is an old "Shankhnarayan" temple, The Mahaprabhuji Baithak was built here by Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji.

Kileshwar Temple :

Kileshwar is an old Shiva Temple. The history behind the place is of Mahabharata Period, it is believed that the Pandvas stayed at this place during their "Vanavas" period.

Gopnath :

Gop (Gopnath) Hill is a favorite spot for pilgrims as well as adventure seeking people, there is a lord Shiva temple on top of the hill.

Ashapura Temple at Ghumali :

This temple was built in 14th century, It is believed that Jam Unndji came from Sindh area with an army to conquer Ghumali, but he could not conquer, so after that his son Bamaniyaji came and surrounded Ghumali with a huge army, at that time, the king Bhaman Jethwa, escaped to Ranpur via the route of Kileshwar. So Bamniyaji attacked and destroyed Ghumli. Later Goddess Ambaji came in his dream and told him that, as she has granted the wish "Asha" of his father to conquer Ghumali, he should make a temple in her name, hence Bamaniyaji built the Temple of Ambaji on the hill in the middle of Ghumali and named it as Ashapura Temple ( Ashapura means the granter of wishes), Till today this temple is very popular among pilgrims, who climb up the numerous steps for paying homage to Goddess Ashapura.

Khijadia Bird Sanctuary :

Khijadia Bird Sanctuary is a unique wet land area with Sea water on one side and Fresh water on one side. This area was declared as a National Bird Sanctuary on 6th November 1982. Khijadia bird sanctuary was a check dam, this dam used to store water from nearby Ruparen river, which merges into sea near Khijadia. the rain water and the dam water gradually mixed up and created a huge wet land (605 hectares) near check dam. Currently fresh water of the rain and river water is on one side and salt water of the sea on the other side, this creates a very unique area that is adequate for both varieties of vegetation, gradually, birds and animals also started flocking and roosting here. Migratory birds from west finds Khijadia as first nesting and resting place.

Harshidhi Temple :

Harshidhi temple is situated on the top and bottom of Koyla Hill. Harsidhi Matatji is also known as Ambica Mataji and Kalki Mataji. The local people call her Harshad Mata. Myth says that before about 2000 years, the capital of the Chavda Kingdom was Minalpur, there the king was Prabhat sen Chavda. This minalpur was a main port and trading used to be done with foreign shores. Once during the holy festival of Navaratri, the 7 wives of Prabhatsen were playing garba. So Jagdamba Mataji from the Koyal hill, also done ornaments and fine clothes and took the appearance of a beautiful lady, came down to play the Ras. King was lost in her beauty and proposed her, Goddess cursed the king and told him that she will roast and eat him alive at night for 15 days, but will make him alive in day time. The ancient temple of Harshad mata is on top of the Koyla hill, has the same construction styles of the Navlakha Temple of the Chalukya Dynasty in Ghumali, where as the temple in the bottom of the hill is quite modern.On the northern side of the temple is the fire pit, where Harshad Mata used to roast and eat the King of Minalpur Prabhatsen.
