Courtney Johnson

Courtney C. Johnson is a grad student, blogger, journalist, aspiring fiction writer and discriminating editor.

Courtney C. Johnson has considered herself a writer since the second grade. After writing a lot of bad poetry and many short stories as a child, Johnson grew up and went to college. As an undergraduate at The University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., Johnson exhausted herself working on two degrees (while also working two jobs and being a leader in multiple campus clubs and organizations). In May 2008 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a creative writing minor, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in German studies with an art history minor, summa cum laude with double honors. She is now beginning work on a Master of Arts program in German studies at the UA.

Johnson has written numerous pieces for publication. She wrote opinion editorials and high school sports articles for the Arizona Range News and was a teen columnist for the Arizona Daily Star. She was features editor of RedBlue Magazine and editor in chief of The Tombstone Epitaph newspaper. This fall she will also begin work as arts and features editor of the Arizona Daily Wildcat newspaper. Johnson's work has also been published in Inside Tucson Business.

To complete double honors requirements for her bachelor's degrees, Johnson wrote two theses, which are published on her Web site.

When she's not studying, writing articles or scrupulously editing poor undergrads' work, Johnson tries to write as much fiction as she can. She is currently working on a collection of short fiction she hopes to have published before she receives her master's degree.

Johnson is also an active blogger, posting regularly to her blog, Mobilize. Divide and Conquer. Look Good Doing it.

Writing aside, Johnson is a social media connosieur, foodie, animal lover, history buff, avid reader and amateur photographer. She enjoys gardening, making crafts, traveling, playing tennis, running, swimming and working out. She also plays the harp, piano and all instruments in RockBand.
