The right way to hang toilet paper

and the right question to ask

A resolution to the age old question "Over or Under?".

As long as I can remember, there's always been a debate on how to hang toilet paper, "Over or Under?".  The premise of the discussion is invalid.  The truth is, toilet paper hangs down, unless it's turned so it's sitting on the top (regardless of whether it's pointing forward or backward).  In some circumstances, it may stick, like weak Velcro on the bottom, but for the most part it hangs down, either in the front or the back.  So the right question is, "Front or Back?".  When looked at that way, it doesn't make sense to hang it from the back, since we access it from the front.  So, the question is:

"Front or Back?"

...and the answer is, "Front, of course!"

I'm with you, Michael

I'm with you, Michael, but unfortunately we are in the minority. Most people seem to prefer to scrabble around trying to snatch up a piece of paper that's sitting tight against the wall because it was hung from the back.

I've often wondered why.

Maybe these people don't like the idea of something as "vulgar" as toilet paper being so unashamedly presented into view by hanging from the front. Myself, I go for practicality.
