Waffles + Peanut Butter = Yummy.
I know before you say it what you're going to say. bleeccchhh.... waffles and peanut butter?! BUT WAIT! It's sooooo much more than that. Well,.. maybe not - but it's still so good you just HAVE to TRY IT.
Making this couldn't be easier. In fact, it's completely idiot proof. I know this because I can make them. I made a list of everything you're going to need before you begin. Let's check it out:
| ingredients | kitchen equipment | utensils |
| frozen waffles (round or square) | toaster or toaster oven | fork (knife optional) |
| maple syrup | plate | cup of milk (recommended) |
| peanut butter (creamy) | .... | .... |
Preparation!
Ok, stay focused and don't give up. In less than 5 minutes (depending on the performance of your toaster), you'll be saying -
"mmm...mwyoou were wroght! Yeeze aar dillishus! Nyum nyum!"
Step 1.
- Do not defrost before cooking. soggy waffles suck.
- Remove 2 frozen waffles from box and put in toaster or toaster oven. Toast for a few minutes - keeping a close eye on them to make sure they don't burn. burnt waffles suck.
- While waffles are heating up, remove lid from creamy peanut butter. Get dinner knife out and set aside.
- optional: If you're loaded and have both a toaster AND a microwave, you can warm up the syrup a bit, if you choose. This only adds to the deliciousness.
- When waffles have turned golden brown on top, or when the toaster spits them out - your'e ready to make the magic happen.
- Remove waffles, plate them and spread enough peanut butter on top of each waffle to cover 1/2 to 7/8 of the waffle. I put a little glob on top and then kind of smush it into the waffle boxes all over the top. Don't overdo it though - moderation is key, as with anything in life.
- Pour just enough syrup to cover the waffle - a little more if you stacked one on top of the other. While the syrup settles in, pour yourself a nice cup of milk (1% or skim is recommended, but if you're too big a wuss to drink lowfat, go ahead and drink the whole milk.)
- Taste. Nothing will seem the same after that first waffle. The sky will be bluer. The air will be cleaner. Your knife will be stickier. And your tummy will be much, much, much happier.
Note that there were no weird ingredients in this recipe. That is the key. Don't get fancy with these waffles. They're not made for that. They're made for peanut butter and syrup..... and now you know.

These are AWESOME!
PeeJay may be right about this not being a "recipe" - but I have to admit these are actually Really good. I'm surprised I've never tried this before. I'll be making these for my daughter this weekend!
Thanks-

FROZEN WAFFLES?
It would have been more fun if you'd used a recipe to create your waffles. Taking them out of the freezer and popping them into the toaster is an activity, not cooking.
xoxoxo,
PeeJay
I apologize for that, but for many of us "guys" - this IS cooking. The important thing to note is that this doesn't taste NEARLY as good with "made from scratch" waffles (at least the "made from scratch" waffles I would make:).... )
I do think you owe the people who read this full disclosure- you're a pancake lover. Don't get me wrong, I like pancakes too, but sometimes (mostly) waffles are just the better choice.
Stay tuned though, I've got a steller chocolate chip pancake recipe coming - and THAT WILL be made from scratch.
Thank you for commenting though!
