The "Slammin strawberry" churn comprises the right-hand side of the second "Freezie" machine in the Los Angeles Times cafeteria. (The first machine has two coffee flavors). The machine is a product of the Berkeley Street Beverage Company ("When the state of California started harrumphing about all the sugar California students were consuming in beverages, Mike Rodgerson, owner and President of Berkeley Street Beverage Company in Santa Monica saw the handwriting on the wall. ")
Calfornia Freezies, according to product labeling, are made from 100% fruit juice.
The strawberry flavor is better than the lemon option, which many find too tart for an office beverage.
