Diann Tonnesen

I was originally born in St. Louis, Missouri, but moved to Miami, Florida when I was 10 years old. I grew up on Key Biscayne when it was still a rural island community, watching them film the weekly episodes of "Flipper" and swimming in the ocean. Every weekend instead of a lemonade stand, my friends and I would sell the tourists sea shells that we had collected from the beach and hand decorated. 

After I graduated from high school, I went on to the University of Missouri to study journalism and law. In 1979 I made the move to Las Vegas when the population was less than 200,000. In 1983 I became fascinated with the burgeoning Las Vegas real estate market and became licensed as a real estate agent. At about the same time I met my husband, Glen, who became my best friend and the love of my life. Trust me, if we ever get divorced, it will be all my fault! We have two terrific kids, Eric and Jeff, who are now grown and on out their own. But we are not quite yet "home alone" as we still have a dog and two cats to care for and love.

Glen and I are both in real estate related fields. Prior to joining Prudential Americana in January of 2005, we were with Century 21 and ranked #1 in the state of Nevada and the Southwest Region for sales, as well as placing in the top 20 of all agents nationally. We decided to make the move to Prudential because of Prudential's advanced technology in the Las Vegas marketplace and the company's commitment to quality service. After being with Prudential less than a year, we were ranked in the top 10 in the US for total homes sold out of more than 63,000 agents nationwide.  

Along the way I became a real estate computer nerd, learning to create my own sites from scratch and writing about the Las Vegas market. To date I have built four main web sites in addition to numerous neighborhood sites which generate over 800 new buyers every month in the Las Vegas market. Many of these buyers are international, as the Internet is now the chosen medium for over 83% of consumers looking to purchase real estate. Because of the extensive advertising exposure we are able to offer, we are recognized as the premiere Internet real estate specialists in Las Vegas. We are also the top sales leaders in many of the booming high-rise Las Vegas Condos going up around the Las Vegas Valley as well as traditional single family Las Vegas homes. 

More recently we have also become specialists in Las Vegas Foreclosures, short sales and auctions. One thing about real estate, it keeps forcing you to think on your feet and change along with the market conditions. Glen is also an experienced lender and helps our clients with their Las Vegas mortgages, so we pretty much have the whole field covered.
