Video Tutorial

They say a picture is worth a thousand words ... and a video is worth ten thousand.  If you are so inclined, you can create a video demonstrating how you project is done, then embed it in your knol.  Simply upload your video to YouTube, then embed it in your knol

If you don't want to make a video, consider making a slideshow. Just create a series of images and descriptions of the steps using either Picassa Web Album or a Google Docs Presentation. Then embed it as a slideshow in your knol.

You can embed a number of different objects -- tables, calendars, forms, etc. -- in knols, so make sure to take advantage of all the different media to communicate effectively.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Step One

Image of step one
Knol is a great for hosting how-to guides.  In fact there are already a number of great how-to articles on Knol (See Holiday Truffles, How to Backpack, or Buttermilk Pancakes for just a few examples).

2. Step Two

Image of step two
Make sure to title each step using a heading format so that the steps will appear in the table of contents.  You can learn more about generating a table of contents.  You can get a general introduction to Knol and find links to other pointers here.

?. Add more steps as needed

X. Final Step

Use as many steps as you need to describe the process in detail.  Close with another image of the completed project to remind your readers of what they are shooting for.
