Frederick Kintanar is a researcher in computational linguistics and has been working as a manager of software engineering at a number of companies in the Philippines. He is based in Cebu City. He has taught computer subjects at University of the Philippines in Cebu. In earlier decades, he worked with non-governmental organization, and taught community development and community organizing at U.P. Diliman. He studied Asian Studies at Cornell University in New York state, and in Satya Wacana University in Indonesia. His professional and civic involvements include organizing the Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology (CEDF-IT), serving on the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Science High Schools System, and membership in the Rotary Club of Cebu.
