As a journalist I've written for publications from Elle and Esquire, to The Times and Time Out. I still write regularly for The Times, mainly on entertainment and history. I also work for the BBC, writing Press material for major drama series. I am the author of more than 20 books on subjects ranging from biography (Harrison Ford, Daniel Day Lewis, Kiri Te Kanawa) to sport (The Beautiful Team: In Search of Pele and the 1970 Brazilians) and history (Colonel Cody and the Flying Cathedral, The Wizard of Sun City). As Augustus Brown I have also written two popular science books (Why Pandas Do Handstands, Play It Again Tom.) As a leading ghost-writer I have worked with experts in a wide range of areas, including one of my specialist subjects, dogs, on which I intend to contribute a series of knols. I also work as a copywriter for a leading London marketing and branding agency, producing sales and advertising material for clients ranging from the architect Sir Richard Rogers and Triumph motorcyles to the Bahrain Royal Family.
