I've been working in the music business for over 20 years. I started as a musician and producer (still am), and founded my first label, Slow River, in grad school (Brown). This led to a relationship with Rykodisc, and I was eventually named president. I left Ryko in 2003, and began writing (2 music books) and teaching (currently at Loyola). I'm involved in a number of music-related ventures. I was one of the original founders of TuneCore; I currently work with Artists House (www.artistshousemusic.org), Wolfgang's Vault, Daytrotter, and Sojourn.
