Great article, Doug!
In these touch economic times, so many people are looking for ways to keep food on the table, keep a roof over their heads and stay out of foreclosure, and just keep their family together. Your article is a great introduction on how they can do exactly that!
As you point out, people do have options! Because they can use their passions to build a business online, they don't have to suffer in dead-end, no-paying jobs that they can't stand. But they should not look to the internet as a "get-rich-quick" solution, either. There is certainly money to be made, but it takes hard work and dedication and you must treat it like the business that it is ... not a hobby and not a way to make a windfall.
I wish that more people really understood how important it is to use your passions to build your business the way that you suggest in your article. So many select a business because they see dollar signs in their eyes when following a passion can be so much more profitable! Not only does following your passion allow the work to feel easier, but when you are passionate about the business you are in, it is much easier to talk like an expert. This allows you to build stronger relationships with your market, and therefore make more sales. It can be the one of the most critical factors in the eventual success of your business!
You and I both know that one of the easiest ways to get started online is through Affiliate Marketing. You don't need to create your own products; you don't need any special skills; and you can get started with practically no overhead once you have a computer. At The IM University, we are also fortunate to have Jeffrey Levesque on board as our Affiliate Manager and, like Team Champigny, we also provide training for our affiliates. When you're just starting out as an affiliate, having a company like yours or mine that has both great products that sell well and the training you need to get started can offer an opportunity to get your feet wet with no experience whatsoever!
It's too bad that you and I didn't have each other when we were just getting started online years ago! I have a feeling that it would have been a LOT easier to get our businesses off the ground and that we both would have gotten much further, much faster! But back when we got started, there just weren't easy to follow programs like my 30-Day IM Challenge, that would help people to learn the mindset as well as the steps to take when starting out. I'm grateful to consider you and Teri one of my "Inner Circle" today!
