Ways to Improve Knol Site and Promote Knol Articles

 

(1) Tag cloud system can be implemented for knol articles so that knol authors can find similar knol articles easily and as well through the size of each tag, authors can find how many times particular tag has been assigned to Knols. By this way Knol platform can highlight readers about the most important topic. 

 

Suppose there is a knol about "How to write Good Knols" and I wrote about "How to write Knol using SEO" and I tag with words "Write Knol" and the same would be done by you or other authors in some related knols. If a user or author clicks on the tag "Write Knol" in a landing knol, then all the Knol tagged under "Write Knol" will be displayed. This helps the knol readers and authors to easily find there suitable subject and importance through the size of each tag.
 
(2) Social sites button can be added to the knol so that sharing can be done easily and the reach of Knol articles would be more.

 

We can have popular social sites button like Digg, Stumbleupon, Delicious, Sphinn, Mixx and many more in Knol so that users can book mark or share the Knol to their network and even micro blogging site like Twitter can be added so that tweets on Knol can be sent easily.

(6) “Favorite Knol list" can be open in authors profile and total counts of the favorite knol can be displayed i.e. as when an author or a visitor marks your knol in their favorite list the count gets increased. (7) Search functionality can be extended with a sub domain as searchknol.google.com and search results can be displayed on the sub domain pages. This helps users to directly refer to the search sub domain for information and also would be easy for visitor and blogger to refer the link related in their content.

 

(8) Knol can provide the service of advertorials to comercial organizations. Knol will get revenue as well as professionally prepared content. Knol can accept only those articles that comply with its content policy.

 

(9) Featured Knols can be provided with a Star near the Knol Title as an identification.

 

(10) An option for short bio about the Knol Author can be implemented for thier Knol content footer.

 

(11) Spell and phrase check tool can be added to the Knol Editor.

 

 

(1) Recruit / Invite more authors. Have a plan of one new author for every quarter.

 

(2) Authors should come up for moderation to ensure the quality of the content specific to their area. Knol team can allocate Knol moderators and they should have options to edit content even if it is not an open-collaboration knol.

 

(3) Authors can open discussion Knols under open collaboration and invite their friends to post their views in it.
