Although advertising may be essential to some web site owners, many web pages that have advertisements have ones that are distracting from the browsing experience. Using the Adblock Plus extension, Firefox users are able to block ads. Opera and Safari also have ways to block ads. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Konqueror has an included plug-in that is able to block ads. Here is how to get it up and blocking a decent percentage of online ads. 1. Download the Filterset.G filter list. As of the time of this writing, the direct link to the filter list is: http://www.pierceive.com/filtersetg/2008-03-08a-MERGED.txt
2. Go to Settings>Configure Konqueror. 3. Select AdblocK Filters on the sidebar.
If this option is not available, affirm that AdblocK has been selected under Settings>Configure Extensions.
4. Check Enable Filters.

5. Click Import. Select the file that you downloaded in the first step. 6. Affirm that the list is now present under URL Expressions to Filter.

7. Click OK Now you can visit a website filled with ads and should see them blocked. Filterset.G gets a fairly good percentage of advertisements blocked. Your eyes will thank you.
