Capel St. Andrew is now a small village, suffering from the Plague in the 1600's. The Church [Capel] is now buried under the fields. Capel has two claims to fame:
1. It has a locally famous statue in lieu of a village sign.
2. It was in Capel St. Andrew, at the edge of the Rendlesham Forest that a UFO was sighted in 1980, the best documented UFO encounter in the United Kingdom.
