ESSENTIALS
- Layered warm clothing for evenings (it may get as cold as 35F)
- Cool clothing for the daytime (it may exceed 100F)
- Personal items (toothpaste, toothbrush, hair gel, shampoo, soap, etc.)
- Any required drugs (prescriptions, etc.)
- Plenty of sunscreen & lip balm
- Two pairs of sunglasses
- Two flashlights or headlamps + spare batteries
- A wide brim hat
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Personal LED/Glow/Strobe lighting for night (to prevent bikes from hitting you)
- Burning Man ticket
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
- Bike (w/ simple combination lock)
- Camelbak (best way to carry water and gear)
- Goggles (for dust storms)
- Dust mask (for dust storms)
- Moisturizing lotion
- Pack of earplugs (because sometimes you will need to sleep)
- Cheap watch
- Bandanna (for dust storms, sun protection & when soaked, for heat relief)
- Tevas/sandals (for showers & inside your shelter)
- Camera and other recording devices in ziplock bags
- Communications Gear (ie: Motorola FRS/GMRS radios)
- Toys (squirt guns, etc.)
- Costumes, musical instruments, props, banners, signs, speeches, poems
- Music (iPod / mp3 player)
- Swiss army knife
- Small backpack
- Body Art supplies (markers, temp tattoos, etc.)
- Items to gift or trade with the natives
