Introduction to Bangalore University

The University of Bangalore, was founded on July 10,1964 as a Federal university with jurisdiction extends to the greater Bangalore city. Initially,the University was built around two premier centres of learning, the Central College and the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering.

The Bangalore University still commands a student strength of nearly three lakhs! As many as 375 Colleges and over 70 Post Graduate departments, making it the largest University in India, perhaps in Asia, may be in the world!

Jurisdiction was extended to include affiliated colleges situated in the districts of the Bangalore.
