Archief Eemland

Archief Eemland is the historical information centre for the region Eemland and Amersfoort in the Netherlands. This institution manages the archives of the municipalities Amersfoort, Baarn, Eemnes, Leusden, Renswoude, Soest (on location in Soest) and Woudenberg and the Waterschap Vallei & Eem. The Archives is also documentation centre for the National Monument Camp Amersfoort.

Archief Eemland is the historical information centre for the region Eemland and Amersfoort in the Netherlands.  This institution manages the archives of the municipalities Amersfoort, Baarn, Eemnes, Leusden, Renswoude, Soest (on location in Soest) and Woudenberg and the Waterschap Vallei & Eem. Archief Eemland is also documentation centre for the National Monument Camp Amersfoort.

The archives manages approximately 3.5 miles of archives, a collection of 30,000 photographs, a significant mapcollection, a growing collection of audiovisual material and a rich historical library.

The consultation of this large collection of cultural-historical sources is free. The Achives is located in a historic building on the edge of the historic centre of Amersfoort.
 

In 2007, Archives Eemland stated its mission as follows:

"Eemland Archive is a professional provider of historical information in the region Eemland, with an eye for the customers and serving them with knowledge of historical facts, a varied product and personal attention. Archives Eemland is an active company that strives to store the historical and cultural identity of the city and region and promote people to take knowledge of it, together with as many partners as possible".
