Knol Help

Knol help can come out with e-Greetings for Christmas and New Year for Promoting Knol. There e-greetings can be used by knol authors to insert in their emails they send on the occasion. As many persons send more than 1000 emails, 30,000 to 40,000 knol authors can send millions of mails and knol will get tremendous publicity if the greeting card carries some reference to knol platform apart from very good greetings message.

I am requesting some authors to create such greeting cards and one of the authors has agreed to come out with some. If knol help can come out with some greeting cards many authors may use them and we will get good publicity for the knol platform.

The following question was asked a week or so ago. It wasn't really for comment but to seek assistance to get the problem rectified by the Gurus who run Google Knol. So my query and concern is like Will Johnson's (date 3 Nov) below:

Whats Happening to the Star Rating and "Gong" System?
I am at a loss over the loss of star ratings. A couple of weeks ago my published Knol had 11 ratings (several sought from busy Professors qualified to rate on the Knol's subject of Conflict Management) and a "gong" as a 'Top pick'. Now there's ...............................nothing.

Doing this to my Knol undermines my sense of credibility in the rating system. After all if this can happen to me, then it could be happening to others.

It would be embarrassing to go back to these Universities and ask again for repeated ratings on the same Knol. Of course there may been been some abuse that I am not aware of that the Knol Managers have dealt with, but then there has been no advice.

I noticed that knol does not accept
font-size: 18px;
as part of the <span style= ...... > definitions.

Why is that?

Knol Help, that is the person who responds here, has been missing-in-action for quite a while now. I don't know what this means, but apparently we're on our own for now. It seems like it's been over a week that Knol Help has not responded to anything.

The page views count is still not updating in' My Knols' while doing so on the knol itself.

Please advise on progress towards a resolution of the fault.

I am visiting knols of different languages in my search for centurion knollers. There are knol authors who are giving a lot of time and effort to the growth of knol platform by thinking of many topics and creating content for the topics.

I got the idea that knol can provide a button that provides the option to read in your language. Knol recognizes the language in which the knol is written and also recognizes the default language of the visitor. Hence if there is translation facility between these two languages a button appears that says read in your language. Such a facility will be very useful. I feel I can read many knols of different languages with such a quick button. It may accelerate translation process also as after reading it, knol authors may judge it for their ability to enhance the translation and do the needful.

Many knol authors are putting in a lot of effort and posting knols. I am collecting the list of centurion knol authors and I could locate so far 50 of them. Still more are there who posted more than 100 knols already. All of them are in the top 150 knol authors.

Hope more knol authors realize the importance of posting good number of knols to attract significant visitors to their knols. They need to use appropriate hyperlinking among their knols to provide proper direction to knol visitors to learn more about various concepts that they have written about.

In My Login, The "Activity For this Author" Column upper right side is not refreshing the Visiter and Comment Numbers since last 2 Weeks.
Can u pls help?

Knol help has concentrated on broadcast of knol technical features and general guidelines related to writing knols till now. There is more stability in technical features now.

The need now for the success and growth of the knol platform is for New Authors, New Knols, Content Quality, Knol Marketing. A weekly communication from knol platform on these four issues will be useful to activate appropriate actions from authors.

If required, knol authors willing to participate actively in promoting these activities can be enlisted in groups and knol help can interact with them through group emails. A more active communication on the performance and shortcomings in these four areas can help knol authors to come out with initiatives that help knol to grow at a rapid pace.
