Lara Heflin, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow at the Memory & Aging Center (MAC) under the mentorship of Joel Kramer, PsyD. She earned a PhD at the University of Southern California, and completed an internship in neuropsychology at the VA Palo Alto. At the MAC, she performs neuropsychological evaluations and is active in dementia research. In addition to interests in neurodegenerative disorders, she is interested in the neuropsychological sequelae of cancer treatments, and in individuals' awareness of cognitive deficits. Bruce Miller, MD, is the Director of the Memory & Aging Center and Professor of Neurology at UCSF, and holds the A.W. & Mary Clausen Distinguished Chair. He is also the scientific director for The John Douglas French Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Miller is renowned for his expertise in Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and other neurodegenerative disorders, and for the exceptional care he provides to patients. He is the Principal Investigator of federally-funded AD and FTD research programs, has won awards for patient care, publishes prolifically in peer-reviewed journals, has authored the book, "The Human Frontal Lobes," and teaches within the medical school.
