Laura Gibbs received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley in 1999, and then joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma, where she now teaches online courses in mythology and folklore (course materials online at MythFolklore.net). She is the author of an English translation of Aesop's fables published by Oxford University Press (in the World's Classics series), and she is preparing an edition of Aesop's fables for Latin students, based on the 17th-century edition of Aesop's fables by Francis Barlow, which will be published by Bolchazy-Carducci in Fall 2008. You can read more about her Latin research and teaching materials at her Bestiaria Latin blog and at these websites: Latin Via Fables and Latin Via Proverbs.
