Obama Should Say 'GoodBye' to his BlackBerry

How much do you need to tease the enemy?

Secure portable communication has been developed and should be used by the new President. Anything else is foolishness.

I am sorry, but I do not laud the President's decision to keep his BlackBerry.  With US Government computer systems being hacked daily, it is only a matter of time until somebody with ill intent picks up on his BlackBerry emails.

Case in point: the US Congress is constantly under attack: http://tinyurl.com/caqvva

A BlackBerry is a consumer device - it has an email address and other capabilities that, although private, can never be considered truly 'secure'.  The Federal Government has paid millions of dollars to develop secure communications devices and methods.  Barack Obama, President of the United States, should take the responsible step of using those devices.

The General Dynamics SME-PED is currently the device of choice for secure, NSA certified government communication.    http://tinyurl.com/2q322l

The 'Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device', under the brand name 'Sectera Edge', is the result of a multi-year development funded by US Government Agencies to meet the needs of government executives.  Mr. Obama definitely meets the requirements to get one.  It allows for unclassified and classified communication in a secure, reliable environment.

I don't know about you, but I really don't want the bad guys to know that Mr. Obama will personally pick the girls up from school today at 3:21, or who is coming to the White House this weekend, simply because crafty enemies snooped into a widely used and largely unprotected public email system.
