Bio—Murray Johannsen


Mr. Johannsen has excelled in a number of roles. These include performing as:

An entrepreneur

Murray Johannsen serves as President of Legacee; heading up the management of his firm's service lines and ecommerce activities in the area of transformational leadership development.

A Speaker

He routinely speaks to associations in America and overseas in Korea, Singapore, China and Thailand. He has five presentations he routinely gives. They are:

    • Push the Envelope,
    • Influence at Work,
    • The Methods of Masters,
    • Mental Toughness, and
    • Make a Change.

A Corporate Trainer

He has hundreds of hours of platform experience earned in a variety of corporations speaking in front of a wide variety of individuals—ranging from factory workers speaking English as a second language to professionals with MBAs and MDs.

He started training years ago during the heyday of Continuous Quality Improvement and Total Quality Management. In those days, he would provide feedback on how to run effective meetings; work with the team leaders to evolve the group into a team; facilitate team efforts in solving real operational problem; and teach the mental tools needed to solve complex problems. These teams ended up saving companies hundreds of thousands of dollars.

However, some of the groups did not perform very well since they lacked effective leadership. This led to his firm's focus on developing transformational leaders.

An Adjunct Professor in the areas of:

  • Leadership Development. Teaching at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension, Korea University, Seoul, and California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, California;
  • Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial marketing. Teaching at the University of the West, Rosemead, California; and
  • Psychology. Were he teaches Introduction to Psychology and Influence and Persuasion for Woodbury University, Burbank, California.

B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa
MBA from the University of Iowa, Iowa City
Master's in Psychology from Harvard University
