Wuala is a startup from Zurich and is currently an Alpha Software.

wuala is an online hard disc and uses peer 2 peer features.
All files are encrypted and the user can controll who can see the files.
When a folder is shared the color is changed to red, a pulic folder has a blue icon, private files are in a yellow colored folder.

Every user starts with 1 GB for free, but he can trade storage. In the settings he can see how long he is online. When he has 17% per day (ca. 4 hours), he can started trading storage.

The first beta was published on August, 14th.[1]
Now wuala no longer needs to be installed on the computer to use it. Everyone can use wuala by going to wua.la and hit the Start button on the website. Wuala will be loaded as an java applet. 

When a user doesn't want to trade but still wants more storage, he can buy addintional storage. The prices is between 25 $ for 10 GB a year and 1000 $ for 1 TB (1024 GB) a year.[2]
