This was a very readable narrative of participating in an Ironman for the first time. This type of story is useful for most readers who have never done triathlons or even marathons. I think it contains the right amount of details and appreciation of the reader such as myself who has not done this extremely hard event but have participated in others. I had the feeling that this could have been any one of my friends telling the same story to me. Its less about being a pro but more about how the average person might prepare and participate in an extraordinary event.
As a knol author 50-mile Hike Phenomenon I have an interest in why people take on these challenges and where we place our personal limits. I would have like to know more about how and why Cedric decided to do the event too. But that's probably just my personal preference.
