She began her foray into the beauty and spa industry after her marriage when she decided to study Beauty Management in the United Kingdom and Europe in 1979. From then on for the next four years she travelled back and forth between her home and family in Malaysia and her study in leading institutes in various parts of Europe. During this time she studied beauty management for two years specialising in Skin care during her final year she then went on to study Advanced aromatherapy for another year. As she discovered her passion for Aromatherapy she returned to complete another year of study in Aromatology to acquire the qualifications of Phys-essentialist and Medical Practitioner.

These qualifications allow her to counsel for certain medical and psychological conditions create suitable blends to treat patients, advice on eating patterns and regular controlled exercise, advice on suitable treatments including underwater massages among other things. She is trained to carry out and teach special forms of massage such as neuro-muscular massages aimed at the central nervous system and sympathetic nervous system and underwater massages to help accelerate the patient’s complete recovery. Also for seriously stressed people, who need more than Yoga or transcendental meditation, Phys-essentialists carry out command exercises and associative treatments which do not require forward thinking of the patient.

As a Phys-essentialist she has been treating people from varying backgrounds from across the globe for over two decades through her blends of oils, counselling and therapies that impact the skeletal, muscular, central nervous and sympathetic nervous system. She has created and carries out numerous treatments proven to be effective in helping counter several degenerative processes that threatens our health and well-being.

During her studies she had the opportunity to visit and learn about the distillation and production of essential oils. Her time training and practising with the world’s most reputed skin care companies including Thalgo and Sothys, both then small companies looking to expand and venture overseas, also exposed her to the development of cosmetics and products. Later upon her return to Malaysia she worked closely with these and other leading companies including hair care giants like Wella to customise their product range to suit local climate, lifestyle, food and living conditions. Later she undertook consultancy while opening and operating her own dance school and spa with these companies in the early 1980's establishing the first spa in Malaysia and their respective master franchisees to introduce their products and skin clinics into Malaysia. She continued to travel for shorter periods thereafter to Europe to study herbology and for professional development.

Later upon migrating to India she continued to be a pioneer locally introducing foreign beauty concepts, treatments and services through her own Beauty Spa in the heart of New Delhi. Family commitments and the new borns saw her exit the business side of the industry and move completely into consulting and less time consuming businesses. She soon joined a then small but growing slimming company by the name of VLCC. During her four year tenure there she introduced and developed Beauty to the company’s core slimming business and moved across the country for this overseeing the research & development, franchising, branding and later sales. Under her oversight the company grew from 10 beauty & slimming clinics to over 60 with 53 of these fully operationalised and 12 franchisee agreements signed at the time of her leave. Sales revenue grew from about 20 crores to just under 200 crores per annum. She also set up the now highly profitable VLCC Academy and undertook all pre-set up work of the VLCC Spa.
