How to Get the Most from Your Vacation Rental Property.
Do you own a vacation rental property? Are you one of millions currently experiencing a financial slump with your vacation rental management system? Fret not. Infuse a little creativity and you can sleep better.
The first step is mental/emotional. Believe in yourself. Follow a proven plan, then take swift and decisive action. The desired result will come, regardless of the outside circumstances. Our country is full of examples of those who turned a sour situation into gold. Remember the boardwalk vendor at Coney Island who couldn’t sell his ice cream? Or his waffles? He could have easily sulked away, complaining about how nobody wanted his excellent products. Instead, he wrapped a waffle into a cone, placed a scoop of vanilla on top, and voila! The first ice cream cone! This combination sold like (ahem) hotcakes and the rest is history.
How do you promote your Vacation Rentals? This, and your vacation rental management practices, will determine your bottom line, as well as your mental stress level in dealing with all of it. I am a firm believer in low stress and high profit, so here are a few tips to help you achieve that outcome.
Promotion of your Property is Key.
Sales and marketing is your first priority - the engine that drives your success. Just realize that no matter what condition the economy is in there will always be people who have disposable income looking to spend it somewhere. All you have to do is find these people and show them how your property is the perfect answer to what they’ve been looking for. Assuming you’ve set the decor, ambiance, and taken really nice pictures, you’re halfway there. And what about your ad copy? Does it list a bunch of features, or does it PAINT A PICTURE of the setting, beauty, and ambiance? Sell your prospects on their emotions first, then give them a good enough reason to follow this desire.
Here is where your creativity can shine. For example, do you have an artful and playful website? Online video tours of your property? Java-scripted characters that jump out and give motion and flavor to your site? Or do you just rely on the typical colorless heading that touts the usual rental features, or your vacation rental management skills, and puts everyone to sleep? Wake up! Hire a programmer to jazz up your site. It won’t cost you much, and will pay for itself many times over. For example see http://www.mountain-rental.com/
Once you properly set up your systems, they will run by themselves. Then you can focus on the creative aspects of marketing and sales. Also, once it’s all running seamlessly with key people in place, you can go get another vacation rental property.
It pays to put a little “oomph” into your vacation rental management!
Have a Blessed Day,
