Philipp is well-placed to write this article, because he is at the hub of a wide group of diverse people all of whom are involved in one way or another with Google. Many of them are directly involved with SEO, wearing hats of various degrees of "blackness".

Philipp also has practical experience, having participated in SEO competitions himself, including one in which he ended up inventing wiki sandbox spam with somewhat unanticipated consequences.

Because he's not working in the SEO business, Philipp can step back and write a balanced, objective article, and that is what I find here. I also appreciated that Philipp has made the effort to use a more readable font than the knol default.
