How to play internet Poker

Internet poker is not for the weak of heart. Playing online poker is nothing like playing a home game or in casino. There are more ups and downs than a roller coaster at six flags and almost an infinite amount of player styles. Playing internet poker you will see so many more hand sthan if you you playing live poker. This is why you will experience so many bad beats as well as win hands you shouldnt.

 

If you are a beginner I would suggest starting out on Bodog. The only reason i would suggest this would be because they offer beginner sit n go's. These 10 player sit n go's place 5 people. You will not become rich playing these beginner sit n go's, but you will learn the playing styles of bodog's poker player community. Once you feel you can play the higher amount tables, it is time to move to a different poker site. Bodog is a great platform to learn on but is horrible to try and actually make money on.

 

If you are ready to play poker for real money it is time to join Pokerstars. I only say this if you are going to play in tournaments or sit n go's that require $10 or more. Anything under $10 and the site becomes Jokerstars, the donk to legit player ratio is astronomical under $10.

 

Now your probably saying what are donks ? Donks are players that are either tilted or just do not know to play poker. These players will :

 

go all in on open ended straight draws on the flop

go all in with only needing one card for flsuh on the flop

call down or bet out mid pair

 

Donks are river racers and should be taken out as quicky las possible. Donks are the table ATMs and can either quickly raise your chip stack or get lucky and devastate your chip and take you out.

 

Do not play timid, just trying to slide into placing. Timid players 7 out of 10 times will be blinded out and beaten by 23 vs their AQ. Play loose and bet large, just make sure you have the best hand. Trying to bluff too many times will get you caught, and getting caught can be disasterous to your chip stack.

 

I would suggest not talking crap to other players, as this usully makes them want to over bet the hands you are involved with and making playing certain hands not cost effective. But everyone loves to be an internet tough so if you do just make you are playing good hands.

 

I suggest playing suited connectors and everything about 98. Most poker sites have a pretty good ratio for Ace, King or Queen flopping. But if you can get in cheap with 54 or 75 try it especially if your camll blind.

 

When betting i suggest no to bet the minimum. Almost everyone will call and risk hitting a bad beat, especially if there are 2 of the same suit on the board. Internet poker allows the flush to hit a large percentage of the time. It would be wise to bet the players who are trying to hit the flush out. I would suggest betting at least half the pot when making bets.
