Duration: Three Years, Full Time. Eligibility: Admission to the first year Bachelor of Arts - B.A_/Bachelor of Science - B.Sc. (Mathematics)/ Bachelor of Commerce - B.Com. Degree Courses is open to candidates who have passed any one of the following:
a) The Pre-University Examination conducted pre
viously by the University of Madras.
b)The Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu. in the academic or vocational stream; provided, the gap between the year of passing of 10th std. examination and Higher secondary Examination is at least two years.
c) The Senior School Certificate Examination (XII std)conducted by the
Higher Secondary education held in 1979 or thereafter, provided that they have been declared to have passed the Examination which not less than 5 subjects, of which English shall be one
d)The Indian School Certificate Examination(12years) conducted by the Council for Indian certificate Examination held in 1977 of thereafter provided that they have been declared to have attained the pass standard in the examinations with not less than five subjects, of which English shall be one.
e) Pre-technical examination after eleven years of study conducted by the State Board of Technical education and Training, Madras.
f) Intermediate Examination (two Years) of Andhra Pradesh and Pre-Degree Examination (two Karnataka and Kerala under the 10+2 Pattern
g) Candidates who have successfully completed twelve years of education, in any State in India or abroad under 11 + 1 or 10+2 or 11+2 Pattern, Subject to the approval by this University.
h) Candidates who have successfully completed second year Foundation Course of the open University System of the Madurai Kamaraj and Annamalai Universities.
i) Candidates who have passed the Central certificate of Education examination (Advanced level) with not less than three subjects in the 'A' level, with in the 'O' level/subsidiary level.
For Admission to B.Sc. (Computer Science)English Medium: Candidates who have passed H.Sc or equivalent examination conducted by the State/Central Board from an institution situated in Tamilnadu or Pondicherry or candidates who have passed the three year year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Tamilnadu
DIPLOMA COURSES
Post Graduate Diploma course : Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications(PGDCA)
Field of Study: Computer Applications. Duration: Full Time (Compulsory Contact programme -Practicals/Theory Classes)
Eligibility: a) Pass in any Degree examination recognized by Bharathiar University.
b) Candidates who have appeared in the Degree examination are also eligible to apply on provisional basis.
Master’s Degree Courses:
1)Master of Business Administration(M.B.A)
Field of Study: Management. Duration: Three years (Distance Education Programme)
Eligibility:
a) Must be a Graduate of Bharathiar university or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.
b)Must possess at least two years of experience in supervisory/ managerial/executive cadre or must be bonafide teachers in Schools, colleges and Polytechnics with two years experience.
Age for Entry: Minimum 25 years of age as on 15th July
Selection Procedure: Based on qualifying an entrance Test conducted by this University.
2) Master of Computer Computer Application – M.C.A
Field of Study: Computer Applications Duration: two years (25 Theory subjects and 6 practical Subjects.)
i)Bachelor of Science B.Sc.(Mathematics)/B.Sc(Statistics)/B.Sc.(Computer Science), B.Sc (Applied Science/Computer technology)or
ii)Bachelor of Science- B.Sc. (Physics), B.Sc. (Chemistry) with Ancillary Mathematics or
iii) Bachelor of Science - B.Sc. (Electronics), Bachelor of Commerce - B.Com., Bachelor of Business Management - B.B.M., with two semesters of study of Mathematics and/or Statistics under 10+2+3 scheme of examination (or equivalent thereto) of Bharathiar University or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by the Bharathiar University or
iv) Any candidate with Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications/Computer Science or
v) Any Bachelor's Degree of Bharathiar University or equivalent where the candidates have studied Mathematics and/or Statistics for two semesters or
vi) Any Bachelor's Degree of Bharathiar University or equivalent thereof with a pass in the pre-requisite examination in Mathematics at the level of B.Com or B.B.A. conducted by Bharatiar University.
The Candidates who appear for the pre-requisite examination should secure 50% of the marks in the qualifying examination.
3) Master of Education - M.Ed.
Field of Study: Education (a)Four Core papers, (b) Two Compulsory elective papers, (c) Submission of thesis or two additional papers. Duration: Two Years
Eligibility: a) Pass in the Bachelor of Education -B.Ed. Degree examination of this University or a Degree examination in Education or Teaching of some other University recognised by the Syndicate of this University as equivalent thereto.
b) No Candidate Shall be admitted to the M.Ed. Degree examination unless he/she has completed the prescribed course of study
