Materials published over the years on Conductive Education and related topics

I have to admit to finding Google Knol altogether aversive to use. It's a great idea but the presentation is uninspiring and actually getting a knol published in a reasonable format is far, far harder than it should be.

Now, returning to this one after a while (after too long, but that's what happens when a task that should be a simple one turns out to be a long frustrating pain) I find that the chronological order has somehow got itself scrambled. No, I am not blaming gremlins or even Google, it's certainly my fault in some way, but I am sure that it wouldn't have happened if everything had been much easier to understand.

So, job number one has not been, as I'd hoped, simply to add a dozen or so further references but to sort out the existing list, apologise to those who have been bemused by it, and then maybe add a few more. I'd hoped that this would not eat up a whole morning!

The good news is that italicisation is now a lot easier. The bad new is that knol's system is very choosey about what it imports and at one pont this morning it seized up and jammed the whole computer for about twenty minutes. At least nothing was deletedalong the way and the whole thing should be rather easier to read.

I have added a few of the unpublished materials fom the eatrly eighties. They were widely circulated at the time in what was then the Conductive Education movement in the United Kingdom. It is interesting to note that the very first of these concerned conductive upbringing. This theme never really cought on in the West and it was another interest of that time, speech regulation,t hat was seized upon, decontextualised and widely misunderstood, and subsequently found a whole new life of its own!

The next  job will be to star filling in some of the holes, particularly the years 1994-2002!
