I am a transplant hepatologist ("liver doctor") and work with a large group of hepatologists, transplant surgeons, and other outstanding staff in the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Liver Transplant Program. Although I evaluate and treat patients with the full gamut of liver disease, my research focuses on acute liver failure (ALF) and drug-induced liver injury (DILI), and I am the site-Principal Investigator on two cooperative studies supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) focused on these important problems.
