- If I contribute to a knol started by someone else, have it show up on my author page, and highlight what I've written.
- If more than 90% of a knol matches another page on the internet, have it be automatically deleted, or kept for moderation. We don't need Knol flooded by wikipedia copies. However, if the person puts that they wrote the content that matches that page, allow them to post it.
- Better tabs and browsing. Have a tab for "Featured", "Knols" (lets you browse), "Reviews", and "Write a Knol".
- Categories and tags. Categories make sure that someone knows right away what kind of content they are reading. Categories such as Reviews, Opinion, Essays, Original Research, Advice, Blogs, etc would be best. Opinion "knols" should not be presented as fact. Let people block out certain categories or tags. Tags would be, like, "cats", "religion", "politics", "news", etc. If someone presents something that is pure opinion as an "Essay" or something, it's violating rules.
- Have an option for allowing specified groups or authors access to edit your knol, excluding all others.
- Groups! Let people create Knol groups and have special ways to publish. Members of the group can be set as members, admins, or writers. Members can go in and see what's written by the group, maybe have it "delivered" to their inbox. Any time a writer in the group writes something, they can have an option to add it to one or more of their group databases. It could work like a newspaper.
- Automatically give links at the bottom or side of a knol to other knols which are about the same topic, you can even have a quick paragraph so they can get a taste of what it is (or just the summary).
- Have some sort of page or app on Knol that lets you look at a reference that is linked more than once in Knol, and lets you see who is referencing it. Also, have trackbacks so we can see if someone is referencing a page.
- Allow knols to be quickly saved or viewed as pdf files.
- Email or in-application notifications when someone comments on, edits, or reviews one of your works (or a piece that you've contributed to).
- Ability to see new knols. You can check which knols you are interested in and see them on a page of new knols.
- Ability to turn on and off this feature: users can highlight text in the knols and add their comments there, depending on their type of comment, different color highlight. Comments on highlights can include...just comments, spelling/grammar corrections, suggestions, citations, etc.
- A LaTeX parser (such as the one in Wikipedia).
- Create a Daily Knol Android App, and send new Knol to Android grouped by Category. User can pick their favorite Knol and read about it on their Android.
- Bookmarking of Knols, maybe something similar to the My Library feature in Google Books.

I already had posted a feature request with more and less the same idea. Look my post:
1- I think will be great have an option to select a text area or a word and add a directory of sites, news that has relation with the area selected. So I could select a word like Barack Obama and insert web pages links related to him. The tagged areas or words will work only for the user account. Example: I could tag Barack Obama and insert my links. If another guy tag the same word on his knol, he will not see my inserted links.
2- The same idea could be added for photos, but for photos we could add links to other photos of the same place that exist on the web. It's great cause users will have the possibility to see more photos of the same place that is not on knol article. So near the photo thumb we will see something like: More photos. When clicked appear a new ajax window with other thumb photos of the same place.
3- An option to change the photos that appear on the knol page on a predefined time. (used in the example if we have many photos of the same place).
This could help in this way too:
I have a word place mentioned on my knol article, like an energy company. This energy company has an external link and a knol article too. I don't see a way to add the 2 options (links)
With this idea we could even add the energy company location on google maps. My idea is able to add any link we want cause I would like for example add news links related to the company and... So if the idea be accept, please not only predefined links.
What do you think?
